Nakuru man defends pastor who cancelled his wedding at the last minute for failing to submit medical report

Apostle Jesse Karanja of Mizpah House of Prayer in Nakuru raised eyebrows when he refused to officiate a wedding on grounds that the couple didn’t hand in medical report from a specific hospital he instructed them to go to for the tests.

Joyce Waithera and Paul Waithaka were disappointed after they were instructed to undergo a second medical test by the preacher, this after they handed in results from an earlier tests.

Most churches require couples to undergo pregnancy and HIV tests before they are joined in holy matrimony. Joyce and Paul complied with the requirement but still they couldn’t exchange vows at Mizpah House of Prayer.

Angry reactions

Kenyans reacted angrily after Joyce and Paul’s predicament was highlighted on the news. Critics savagely condemned the Nakuru preacher for refusing to officiate the wedding.

Paul Waithaka however defends his pastor from the criticisms, he called on Kenyans to learn not to insult people despite what they do.

“I have not spoken to the man of God as he too has gone through a lot after Kenyans started abusing him. You see, Kenyans need to learn not to insult people despite what they do; yes we are angry but that does not mean we hurl insults. We have however been speaking to other pastors who are guiding us and praying with us,” Paul Waithaka during an interview with Nation.
