Kenyan rapper Rajiv Okemwa, better known as Raj, has released a new song where he admits that he has a crush on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s only daughter – Ngina.

The song dubbed Ngina is  the fourth record off his Bae Tuesday weekly series where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until December in anticipation for his #BAE2 (Beautiful And Exquisite2) album.

In the song, Raj says that he his eyes set on Ngina although his pockets are not deep.

In the hook, he sings, “Ngina kipenzi mimi naku enzi sina mapeni Ngina wa, Ngina wa rais.”

Raj goes on to explain that he comes the village and he has never held a million in his hands but he is probably few of the realest.

In as much as he claims that he wrote the song when he was still in high school, it will definitely elicit reactions now that he has released it.

I really love this jam. Raj’s ability to infuse Kisii, English, Swahili in his lyrics amazes me all the damn time.

The song was produced by Lucky and self-engineered. The animated video helps you put the song into context. Props to the brains behind it.

Victoria Kimani has a new collabo with Raj dubbed ‘Igo’ and it’s worth your time (Video)

Kenyan rapper Rajiv Okemwa, alias Raj, has dropped a new jam with Victoria Kimani and we are absolutely feeling it.

Dubbed Igo, which is a Kisii word that means like that, this song is definitely one for the books. It’s a big tune!

I really loved Raj’s flow on this song, especially the part where he flows in his native Kisii language. Although I could not understand a thing, I thought it was totally awesome.

Victoria Kimani also came through with her seductive voice that I know most of us wouldn’t mind listening to the whole day even if it’s just a casual conversation.

I also thought that the video concept was brilliant. The picked ordinary shoot locations and made the best out of them. I was impressive.

One of the other things that I really loved is the mellow beat in the song, it just give you this good vibe as you listen to it.

The has simple lyrics and chances are, you’ll master it in matter of minutes and that’s not a bad thing or is it though?

Igo is off Raj’s upcoming #BAE2 Ep that we ar e really looking forward to. Drop it already!

Inama brings together Lofe, Raj and the Kansoul

Inama has brought together Lofe, Raj and The Kansoul. The track has been produced by Addi of Moneymall Empire. The jam is set to rock the club this year. Inama is not the kind of song that would make you crave to listen to music.

The Kansoul has become particularly drowned in the new age of Kenyan music style and seems to be following Ethic’s trend in all their songs. Inama is their latest collaboration which features upcoming artists Lofe and Raj.

The production of this song is low, looking at the audio the beats are so high that the words are not clear. Who on earth would struggle to listen to the words? Although the sound is poor, the video is lit. It looks nice and well thought off. The song has no content that is attractive.

The trio, Lofe, Raj and The Kansoul could have done better than this. Looking at the lyrics I would term the song as trash. Inama is only brought out through the dance where the vixens are shaking their booties. “Mtoto wa hadija ati geuka nikubeng”.Looking at this line it is fine. Kubeng’ means banging and the whole line simply is all about the lady who in this case is reffered to as mtoto wa Hadija.

“Geuka nikubeng venye unakaa inaonekana unataka mjulubeng”. Smh! With these type of lyrics, new age upcoming artists lack taste in music.

I would give the song a rating of 2/10. This is not something I expected from the kansoul. There is so much work to be done with the song. I would term it as noise because I need to struggle to get the words.
