Ruth Matete, a vocal instructor, has resumed her dating life.

After the passing of her late spouse, Matete has talked openly about dating. In 2020, a gas cylinder explosion in their house claimed the life of her husband.

Ruth admitting moving on and adoring the newfound tranquility in a conversation with her best friend Reverend Dad, also known as Mzungu Mwitu.

Since 2015, the two have been close friends. He asked her to sing at a youth conference in Eldoret, where they first met.

Rumors of a relationship between Ruth and Mzungu Mwitu have surfaced. She refuted the claims.

I am not pregnant, I am not dating you (Reverend dad), guys I am dating someone else.

At the moment she realised she had said too much, she said,

Shhh oh my God, but yes I am dating I can’t say I am dating, ngai dating ni nini?

Mzungu Mwitu quickly clarified that he was actually her deceased husband’s friend long before he was her friend – and you know how men are about honour and loyalty.

36 year Ruth Matete has no time to waste dating young men out here. She is already has a 2 year old daughter and after losing her husband to a tragic gas explosion at their apartment- Ruth was left behind as a widow.

The woman of God then took 2 years ro work on herself while nursing both her newborn daughter and her broken heart following husband’s untimely demise. However since then – Ruth Matete has not only managed to slowly let go of her past – but she’s now ready to date again.

These two years, I had told myself I would give myself about two years before I can now think about being with another man.

Speaking in a recent interview on Lupaso YT channel Ruth Matete talked about her journey as a single mum and of course the most interesting part is when she talked about dating again. According to the lady, she’s been more than single and describe her situation she said;

I am very single. There’s single and there’s very single. I am very single.

So is she searching for someone?

Searching? I want to be searched. The Bible says a man shall…not a woman. Hiyo nayo we cannot change that one please usikatie mwanaume. Hii mambo ya shot your shot, don’t do it, aki let me tell you to don’t. Just don’t. You would rather go on your knees and say, Lord, open the eyes of that man, let him come to me.

No boys allowed

Well since she’s already planning on finding a lifetime partner that will probably play daddy to her baby girl and the perfect sipportive husband, Ruth Matete made it known that;

So yea like we said – Ruth Matete isnt planning on entertaining small boys in her corner simply because she has no time to teach him how he should handle his husband duties.

Ruth Matete ready to move on, remarry & start a family 2 years after losing husband

It’s been almost 2 years since Ruth Matete lost the love of her life the late pastor Beloved John Apewajoye; to a tragic gas explosion that left him with serious burns that later led to his death.

From what I remember is seeing Ruth Matete who was pregnant at the time breakdown during her husband’s burial; and for a minute her pain seemed like it would never end. Imagine losing a husband while pregnant…it’s tragic and come to think of it….she’s one strong woman, right?

Anyway as they say – time heals all wounds and guess what…Ruth Matete now says she is ready to find a husband and who will hopefully be the father of her kids. The singer/preacher revealed this in a post saying she hopes by the time she hits 40 years – she’ll have found her soulmate or just a mate to build with.

In three year’s time,I will be 40????
Wueh!! ???? Na bado nataka nipatie Tolu brother na sister. Someone needs to find me we do this thing tumalize.???????? Ama kuna a medical procedure to help me get twins? I would wish to finish that chapter by 40.

Ready to fall in love

At 37 years with a 2 year old – clearly Ruth Matete is at that stage where she feels time is running out. Imagine having to start from scratch…it’s time consuming and time is something she doesn’t have.

However since she can’t change this, all Ruth can do is move fast and I guess this is what she’s exactly planning.

Daddy’s girl! Ruth Matete unveils daughter’s face for the first time

Singer Ruth Matete is doing a great job as a mum. I mean, after everything she went through in 2020, the singer has not only proven to be strong but courageous enough to handle every bitter experience life has thrown her way.

In March she lost the love of her life after a tragic gas explosion that ended up costing her husband’s the late Belovedjohn Apewajoye’s life. As if this was not enough, Ruth Matete was denied her husband’s body which was being held back for investigations.

3 months later she was however allowed to bury his remains; an experience that will forever remain fresh in her mind. From the funeral photos, one could see how broken Ruth was; and the fact that she was heavily pregnant made it even worse.

God’s blessings in Ruth’s life

With the late Belovedjohn Apewajoye gone, Ruth Matete now holds on the loving memories she shared with her hubby.

Luckily for her, she has baby Toluwa who is a result of the love she shared with her late husband. Well, being 2 months since the baby was born, Ruth recently shared a photo showing off her baby’s face for the first time.

Although we cannot really tell who she will take after as of now; but chances are that she will be a replica of her daddy – because baby girls share a strong bond with their fathers. And in this case, I guess baby Toluwa will be no different.

Pastor Ruth Matete introduces daughter 2 months after giving birth (Photos)

Pastor Ruth Matete may have faced the worst pregnancy experience ever and this after she the lost her Nigerian husband, Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye on Monday, April 5; who succumbed to burn injuries sustained in a gas explosion at their home on March 30.

She however pushed herself in order not to affect her unborn child. Almost 6 months later and Ruth was blessed with a bouncing baby girl who she named Reyna Toluwa; as agreed upon with late hubby, Belovedjohn.

Just like most celebrity parents, Ruth did not feel the need to publicize her baby girl; until Christmas when she shared a photo of herself with daughter and her supportive dad who is now playing the role of a dad and granddad to baby Toluwa.

Introducing the newborn to her online fans for the first time; singer Ruth who doubles up as a pastor wrote;

Not alone

This being the first Christmas Ruth Matete is spending as a mum; her family made sure to surround her with love and affection.

While for many women it takes years to shed-off the post-pregnancy weight, for Ruth Matete, it seems to be a walk in the park. Barely two months after giving birth to adorable daughter, gospel singer Ruth Matete is back in shape and how!

The new mum in town welcomed her first child, baby Toluwa, on October 23, 2020. However baby Toluwa unfortunately arrived early (37 weeks) due to a few blood pressure related problems. According to reports Ruth Matete had to undergo a C Section at the the Ruai Family Hospital RFH.

According to a close relative, doctors advised Ruth to have the baby early in order to prevent more complications; and luckily for them, baby and mum ‘walked’ out of the theater alive and healthy.

The baby came at 37 weeks because the mother had blood pressure. It’s the doctors who recommended the CS to save both mother and child. Both are doing great

Back and better

Although Matete’s pregnancy had a lot of issues that were triggered by the death of husband, Beloved John Apewajoye who died in a fire accident at their Home in April.

Despite the pain and tears Ruth Matete managed to pull through; and is currently an inspiration to many women both married and single. Seeing her pull through this tragedy and still have strength to give birth and bounce back is what we call a miracle.

It has been a month since Pastor Ruth Matete welcomed her bouncing baby girl, Toluwa but memories of her late husband continue to linger in her mind.

Monday, April 5, the Kenyan gospel singer lost her Nigerian husband, Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye who succumbed to burn injuries sustained in a gas explosion at their home on March 30.

Her late husband left behind an unborn baby and a wife whose battles ever since, have not been anything easy.

Fortunately mid-October 2020, a dear Ruth successfully welcomed her new bundle of joy, a princess she names baby Reyna Toluwa.

In a long, heartfelt letter to the month-old baby girl who was not privileged enough to physically meet her daddy, a dear Ms Matete pens;

“Am not a poet, but the words I write here, are from my heart.”

“I pray for you on this special day. That you will grow to serve the Lord. You will spread the good news of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,” her letter reads.

Sharing a cute photo of baby Toluwa’s adorable feet, the singer sweetly admits;

“I declare today that your feet are beautiful. Not just because they look like your father’s,???? but also because they will bring good news as the word of God declares.”

In loving memory of her late husband

A dad she was not privy to meet, but born to parents who mark 1 year anniversary since walking the isle on November 22.

Unfortunately, Ruth is still hurting from her loss;

“A day like this a year ago your late father and I walked down the isle. Yes, we did????????. Promised to be together till death do us part. But death came earlier than we expected. ???????? I miss him so much,” she cries out.

“Today may not be such an easy day for mummy. But I promise you, I’ll be fine. ????,” Matete comforts.

Wrapping up by admitting that she is still not able to work and for those that wish to support them then;

“Friends, our till number remains the same, 5495849. Whatever you can, will go a mighty long way as am still not able to work. God bless you friends and please keep us in your prayers????.”

Fans continue to wish her blessings and God’s graces as the two embark on their new journey together.

Even after developing birth complications, Ruth Matete is finally a proud mom to a bouncing baby girl.

The gospel singer delivered her first child with the late Belovedj0hn Apewajoye on Monday, October 19.

Baby Joana Toluwa Apewajoye was delivered at Ruai Family hospital, RFH.

News that was kept under wraps by the embattled gospel singer whose last couple of months have not been easy on her.

After losing her Nigerian husband in a fire accident. To spending months in a push and pull with the Law in a bid to get her husband’s body for burial, nearly giving up on it. God has indeed remained faithful to the singer.

The beauty who kept parading her growing belly in stunning baby bump photo shoots, is reported to have gone into labor on Sunday, October 18, in the company of her supportive dad, Abel Amunga.

For him, it never felt more proud to hold his own flesh and blood in his arms.

However, the beauty is reported to have gone into labor earlier than her set date after experiencing high blood pressure.

“She had high blood pressure and in order to save the baby and the mother, the doctor recommended a premature CS be done which was successful and both are safe and healthy,” Mr Abel Amunga divulged.

The singer was set to deliver around mid-November but the baby came 3 weeks earlier. Interestingly, the church pastor kept hinting she was expecting a baby boy, Joshua.

According to Ruth’s dad, her first and second scans showed the baby is a boy but the third revealed it is a girl.

“I am a proud grandpa,” Mr Abel screamed.

If there is anything Ruth Matete has learned this year is that you can only trust your mother and God at the same time.

This is after having a bad experience with friends she hoped would have stepped in to help out; after her husband’s tragic gas accident that later on claimed his life.

According to Ruth Matete, everyone she thought was a friend at the time ended up showing their real colors; but either way she has no regrets. In a detailed post shared on her page, Ms Ruth wrote;

Ttuth is, when I look back, I realize that I had and still have more people who are for me than those who are against me. People, both those I know and strangers have stood with me. My unborn child and I have not gone a day without food or shelter. It’s just that the enemy will always want us to focus on the bad by magnifying it. But in real sense,the good always outweighs the bad.

The soon to be mum who is currently quite heavy went on to add;

I had this woman of God who really stood with me. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect it. But wueh! She was there. I loved how she would blatantly tell me the truth sometimes. I would call her anytime and she would answer. Pray with me..some days she would just listen while I lamented. Listen, sometimes when one is hurting, you don’t need to say anything. Lesson learnt

With everything that has since happened in her life; Ms Matete remains grateful for the far she has come and the lessons she learnt along the way. Through her Instagram page she went on to add;

Anyway, am here to tell you to learn to trust in God fully. It is human nature to run to our friends and expect them to help us in times of need. But I have learned that it is safer and better to trust in God. The fact is you need help. The problem is you already have figured out a way you want God to help you. Like for instance, I expected God to come through for me through some specific people. But God had other plans. In the end I got more help than I even needed..but because I was fixated on who should help me, I ended up being angry, bitter and frustrated when they didn’t..yet, I received help in the end.

As for those who have experienced the same painful experience this year, Ruth went on to encourage them saying;

I don’t know who this post is meant for, but I thought to share this from my heart. Let’s learn to fully depend on God. You will be amazed at how God will come through for you. Giving you even more than what you asked for.

I have decided to take my rantings and venting to God in prayer. I will use my social media platform to lift, and encourage. I pray that you do the same.

Former Tahidi High actor Toni aka Prince Tsyder got into a relationship with gospel singer Ruth Matete about 8 years ago; but their relationship did not end so well.

If you remember well, right after their break up Toni was accused for using and dumping the lady right after her 5 million ended. According to reports, Toni was said to be the reason why the singer’s TPF price ended overnight; with no investments or savings left.

During this time both Ruth Matete and Toni maintained their silence; and with this, many assumed that the stories circulating on social media were true. However little did we know the damage it left in Toni’s life now that he had been branded as a gold digger – chasing after a woman’s money.

Speaking for the first time through OJ’s new YouTube show; Toni went on to deny spending or even touching the 5 million Ruth walked away with after winning TPF.

Kenyan gospel artist Ruth Matete decided to treat herself to a beautiful vacation at the Coast ahead of the delivery of her baby with late husband, Belovedjohn.

The babe left the city for the Kenyan coast early this week, where she has been having the time of her life, as she awaits to start her motherhood journey once more with her newborn.

Kenyan gospel artiste Ruth Matete might not be so far from gracing the delivery room after beautifully flaunting grown baby bump in a stunning maternity shoot.

The beauty who had kept her pregnancy with late husband, Belovedjohn Apewajoye, under wraps until she could no longer hide her bulging belly, has finally decided to show it off to the world.

Even though still morning her late husband’s loss, the chocolate-skinned beauty went all in for a white affair. Rocking an off-shoulder, slim-fitting mermaid dress that she allowed to flow to the ground, creating what seems like a heavenly waterfall.

Crowning it with angel-like all-white wings attached to the back and extended above her head, like an angel about to take off from the ground.

Meanwhile, a dear Ms Matete looked down on her cutely bulging baby belly, with arms gorgeously wrapped around it and seemingly lost in thoughts.

Atheists president Harrison Mumia urges Ruth Matete to quit Christianity and join the atheism movement

Harrison Mumia who is popularly known for his role in the atheism community movement has come out urging Ruth Matete to forget Christianity and join Atheism!

This comes shortly after Ruth Matete went on to blast popular pastors; and ministers of the word who abandoned her after her husband’s accident that cost his life.

Through her social media pages, Matete went on to tell off these pretenders in a detailed post where she wrote;

Can we talk? I know this will land me in trouble with the Religious people but hey! So now, some of you have some weird audacity. You have never liked me from the word go and that’s alright. When I was going through hell and high waters and scandal was my name, you turned and kept your distance. You only wanna associate with me when am the star and being celebrated. But when the rubber meets the road, hamnijui. Wah!

She went on to add;

Kama kuna kitu ilinihurt that time is when pastors I have ministered in their churches left me. Like no call. In fact, some of them came up with prophecies during their live broadcasts saying that God showed them I’ll go to jail and that I was guilty. Then now, God has vindicated me. I have had to pick my own broken pieces and try to move on, you’re back! Wow!! Calling me. Texting me. Telling me you were praying for me. Mercy Lord!! Was it so hard for you to just call or text and tell me that? You avoided me like a plague.

With this, Mr Harrison who is an atheist has also released a short statement; urging Matete to abandon Christianity and experience a better way of living.

I would like to tell Matete that I was once a Christian just like her, I witnessed the hypocrisy in the church. While Christianity brands itself as a religion of love, justice and peace, these traits are nowhere to be seen when you examine the life of most Christians,”

I challenge Ruth to abandon Christianity for atheism and experience the peace I’ve experienced as an atheist for over 20 years. Since I abandoned Christianity, I’ve experienced peace in the midst of terrible pain, frustration, death of my father and other very stressful and painful events,

Kenyan gospel artiste and widow to the late Belovedjohn Apewajoye has been forced to celebrate his birthday in his absence but she cannot contain her emotions.

The soon-to-be mother of two took to her Instagram to celebrate a life well lived but one gone too soon, the world could not allow him just another year into his life.

September 22, the deceased would be marking another year on earth but in as much as his beloved wife, Ruth Matete tried to ignore the emotions running through her, it has proven impossible.

The worship leader asked fans to just say a prayer for her, this day, when someone so special in her life would be celebrating milestones but it all worked against her.

Last goodbyes

The late Belovedjohn Apewajoye breathed his last on April 11 after succumbing to burns suffered during a fire accident at their home at Great Wall Gardens, Athi River.

He was later laid to rest in an emotional sendoff on July 23 at Langata Cemetery, Nairobi, by friends and family. Meanwhile, his late wife who is heavily pregnant with their first child leaves to ask questions, with answers that may take time to find.

She however seems at peace with the world if her recent social media timeline is anything to go by.

We can only wait for her successful delivery and journey into motherhood once more.

Her social media family, promised to keep her in their prayers, but also comforted her pains, agony and distress as another year lapses in her late husband’s life.

Pastor Ruth Matete’s 2020 must have been the worst year she ever lived! This is because she not only lost her husband but went through rejection and betrayal from people she thought would stand with her during the time time.

Howverr thanks to a few posts shared on her social media pages; Ms Ruth went on to expose these ‘friends’ asking them not to fake a relationship when they already abandoned her.

The soon to be mother claims that some of the pastors who served with her; not only accused her of being guilty of killing husband; but some were certain that she had a hand in his death.

No fake zone

She went on to throw shade at these so called fans leaving ‘heart felt’ comments on her posts now that she is back on social media.

Howver according to Ruth, it is not her place to entertain hypocrisy; and this is why she prefers keeping it real with her former friends who she served in the ministry with. Through her social media pages the pastor wrote;

To conclude her long post; Ruth went on to distance herself from the fake friends and religion; now that she experienced judgement from those she thought would stand with her.

But also as much as it may have hurt her, Ruth now knows that human beings are capable of anything just to look righteous; but the good thing is that her family held her hand all through!

Pregnant pastor Ruth Matete has been facing each day as it comes. This is after losing her husband the late pastor Beloved John Apewajoye; to a tragic gas explosion that left him with serious burns a few months ago.

However what Ruth Matete will tell you is that losing a husband; someone she was closely attached to and pregnant for is not as easy as many think. After his death the pastor decided to withdraw all her social media activities until just recently; when she opted to come back.

As seen on a few posts on her page, Ms Matete went on to urge fans not to ask questions nor condole her as the pain was still too fresh.

The life after

Well, being hormonal and still in mourning has not made life any easier for Ruth Matete. Thanks to a new post shared on her page; the singer cum preacher goes on to admit that life without her husband has been quite a journey.

According to the soon to be mum, some days are hard; while others seem okay for a few minutes before reality kicks in. She went on to open up about this saying;

Truth is some days are very hard. When death knocks at your door, there’s nothing you can do. Some days, voices in my head tell me am taking too long in this mourning phase. But I have made up my mind not to be hard on myself. I patiently wait for the day God will heal me totally. But the again, some days I doubt if this kind of pain can totally heal. So I ask God to give me a new heart instead.
Till then, I’ll smile when God gives me a chance to. I will laugh when God allows me to. But above all, I will keep serving Him.

But with the baby around the corner; Ruth might just receive the joy she has been waiting for!

It has been almost 5 months since gospel artist Ruth Matete’s husband Belovedjohn Apewajoye breathed his last.

April 6 remains a date imprinted on the singer’s mind and life, as the fateful day her husband was caught in the middle of a fire accident in their house at Great Wall Gardens, Athi River.

An incident that did not spare her husband of a second life, succumbing to sustained injuries on April 11. Since then, it has been nothing rosy for an expectant Ruth Matete.

She finally laid the father to her unborn child to rest on July 23 in a private sorrowful event but even so, her eyes have been filled with tears. Telling more on her recently revived Instagram page, the pastor and singer recalled how she would persistently ask God why her.

The ‘why’

But as time went by, she has found the answers she was looking for, because nothing catches God by surprise.

“That’s when I stopped asking why me and instead asked God to show me the reason why He allowed me to face it… And all things work together for good, to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose,” penned Ruth Matete.

As she looks forward to holding her little one in her arms, the single mom revealed she was no longer going to hold onto the pain, the heartbreak and the tearful last few months that saw her world turn dark.

“It’s a few months since my late husband went to be with his maker, and I can candidly tell you, that I now understand why God allowed me to go through it. Do I still cry? Yes. But it gets better with time. I have made up my mind not to waste my pain. God must and will be glorified through my pain,” she wrapped up.

Her post, new life and light was received with love by fans, who adored her courage and bravery, wishing her nothing but God’s blessings.

Ruth Matete is slowly learning how to adjust to living without her husband Beloved John Apewajoye who passed on following a gas accident that occured at their home in Athi River.

Losing a husband while pregnant must have been the toughest experience Ruth Matete went through; however with time, she is learning how to accept that he is now in a better place.

After taking a short break from social media; Ruth Matete has made a come back using a never seen before photo shared on her Instagram. Having crossed into a new month, it’s quite obvious to see that September is Ruth Matete’s favourite month as seen on her caption.

On this special month, the lass hints about her water breaking; which means her son will soon be here, just a few months after losing their daddy! To caption her post, Ruth wrote;

The number 9 symbolizes divine completeness or conveys the meaning of finality. Christ died at the 9th hour of the day. In this 9th month of the year, just as Christ died and overcame death at the 9th hour, you too shall overcome whatever battles you’re facing, in the name of Jesus Christ. I know it’s been hard. It’s been tough! You have cried your eyes out.

She went on to add;

Ruth Matete prayed for a husband, one she got but way beyond her expectations. Having laid him to rest just yesterday, the singer’s father could hide no more the late Belovedjohn’s unusual character in the dead of the night.

During his speech, Matete’s dad, Mr Abel Amunga narrated how his son-in-law would wake up in he middle of the night to say a prayer and not for Kenya, but for Korea and Japan.

Warring nations, very distant from the African continent but countries that a dear Pastor John would intercede for in his night prayers.

This came out as unusual because the standard way of thinking has been; you must be waking up to intercede for someone close to you – could be a relative, could be a friend but Belovedjohn was an exception.

Last night, my daughter was telling me, this man would wake up in the night and pray for Korea and Japan. How many of you just pray for Pakistan? It sounds weird. What we pray for is, for family members, church members, business, wife, husband…period! This man used to pray for Japan in the dead of the night.

For this peculiar behavior, Matete was worried she married a mad man.

Ruth thought she was married to a mad man. Yes. He was spiritually mad. I celebrate this man. That’s why I cannot wait to see him.

Memorial

The singer’s husband was laid to rest during a difficult time with all these Covid-19 restrictions in place but Mr Abel believes he warrants a more deserving send-off.

Ruth, later, after corona is behind us, we shall organize for a big memorial for this man, even if it will be at KICC or kule stadium, we shall organize. This man has to be celebrated. This man was a dancer, a singer, a fiery preacher, this man was an intercessor.

After a long wait, Ruth Matete was finally able to grant her late husband a deserving send-off but sad memories of his last days, relived in her once more and she could not help but let the tears flow.

In a touching tribute, Ruth recalled their dreams together, dreams to grow a family, dreams to hold each other’s hands during their old age, but unfortunately, dreams that never got to see the light of day.

In a quick flashback, the singer vividly recalled how Apewajoye’s fatal accident struck just as they had started their days of fasting.

On the third day of praying, the accident happened. My love, I had not seen it coming. I was confident that God would heal you and bring you back to me.

But Matete never gave up, she took up the mantle and said this one prayer to God:

Give him a new skin, a new set of kidneys and heal into every part of his body.

Fateful night

Saturday, after seeing her husband in hospital, Ruth felt a strange coldness in her body all of a sudden. But she dismissed it – assuming it was just probably due to the day’s fatigue.

Unfortunately, that was a sign.

Now I know you were saying goodbye. I went home to sleep and the next day I received a call from the hospital at around 6 am, that I was needed at the hospital. I knew right there…

For the expectant mother, she had made one prayer; that Belovedjohn would come back home to her, fully recovered.

At first I thought God was so unfair but later on I remembered my prayer to God “to heal you completely, to take away the pain and to resurrect with you”. I did mean it that way! Did I pray the wrong prayer? I will never know.

A mistake she made or not, Ruth is at peace knowing that one way or the other, her husband is in a good place.

It might not be the answer I expected or wanted, but it sure is what I asked for. You are no longer in pain and never ever will you be. I know you are happy where you are, even if I asked you to come back to me, you wouldn’t want to.

Ruth Matete has left many in tears following her heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Beloved John Apewajoye’s who died on April 11th.

The pastor who had legally wedded Ruth Matete a few months ago succumbed to burn injuries sustained from the unfortunate gas explosion. at the time of death, the pastor had been receiving treatment at a known hospital in Nairobi; but unfortunately, he did not make it alive.

As his kenyan family gathered for his final send off on July 23, Ruth Matete was given the chance to eulogise her late hubby; and judging from what she said, we can all agree that the singer indeed loved her husband.

It’s a boy!

From what Ruth said, it appears that her husband already knew that his time was up. To prove this, the late pastor had already picked out a name for their unborn child. She went on to open up saying;

Sometimes I feel you when your time had come because of how you had put things in order like naming the baby. We agreed to call him Joshua Toluwa Apewajoye if it’s a boy and Joanna Toluwa Apewajoye if it’s a girl.

Lastly… Ruth went on to mention that they are expecting a baby boy who will be named Joshua which signifies “Yahweh is deliverance” or “salvation.

Miss Ruth said;
It is a boy so he is Joshua. I’ll tell Toluwa of how kind you were pastor Beloved and what a true man of God you were. 2 Corinthians 5:8. Continue being with the lord my darling husband.

Ruth Matete is a strong woman and I say this because she has managed to handle both her young pregnancy; and the death of her husband, the late Beloved John Apewajoye.

For the past few months Ruth and her family had been trying to access her late husband’s body whixh had been held back for investigations by the government.

After weeks of waiting, the singer was granted permission to bury her husband but again; she needed to clear the pending hospital bills before releasing the body.

Well, the late Beloved John Apewajoye was finally laid to rest at the Lang’ata Cemetery since they could fly the body to Nigeria.

Pregnant Ruth breaks down

Having lost the love of her life, we honestly cannot imagine the amount of pain singer Ruth Matete must be going through.

Looking at the photos shared by popular news outlet, Ruth’s face not only paints the pain she is undergoing; but also proves that women are indeed strong!

With just a few months before the arrival of their first child; Matete has managed to keep herself sane but looking at the brighter side – at least she now knows where her husband’s body is resting.

Ruth Matete has heaved a sigh of relief after a prolonged dispute that saw her give up on her husband’s body for burial.

Fortunately, after the long hustle, Belovedjohn Apewajoye’s burial is currently ongoing at Nairobi’s Langata cemetery.

This is after a family spokesperson revealed that Matete today morning picked her husband’s body for burial.

The good news comes weeks after a public appeal from Ruth Matete to assist her in footing mortuary bills that had ballooned over the 3 months her husband’s body was being held back for investigations.

Hopefully, it has all been settled and her late husband can finally rest. Meanwhile, she is expecting her first child with Pastor Belovedjohn.

Relatives and friends of the late Belovedjohn were however not able to make it, basing on the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

Singer Ruth Matete who is pregnant with her late husband’s child is in need of money to help settle the huge bill her late husband left behind.

Sadly the gospel singer lost her husband early April after their gas cylinder exploded leaving the late Beloved with serious burns that later pushed him to his death.

John Apewajoye, aka Beloved John however left behind an ex wife and kids; not forgetting his new wife Ruth Matete who is currently trying to clear the Ksh 600,000 in order to give the late Beloved a decent burial.

Thanks to a post making rounds on social media; we now understand that Ruth needs some help from the public as she hopes to bury her husband soon.

Word has it that his body is still being preserved at the Kenyatta University Hospital mortuary for now; but his family in Nigeria has already given his new wife permission to bury him here in Kenya. The poster read,

This is an appeal for funds to help Pastor Ruth Matete pay her late husband’s medical bill, funeral expenses and for her new life with her unborn baby.

DCI forced to intervene after Ruth Matete’s husband’s burial turns ugly

Ruth Matete was finally granted the go-ahead to give her late husband, Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye a deserving sendoff but the nitty gritties of it stand in the way.

After months of the deceased’s body lying in the morgue at Kenyatta National Hospital, accumulated morgue fees have only skyrocketed the more.

This saw the Kenyan gospel artist give up on ever burying her late hubby, therefore leaving it to the Nigerian embassy to do as they please with his body that had reportedly been held back for conclusive investigations.

The setback

Well, now that the official bodies have set free Pastor John’s body for burial, Ruth Matete and her family is expected to pay at least KSh 600,000 as morgue fees before the body is released to her.

Unfortunately, the bill has proven hard to foot by themselves, even calling upon Kenyans to extend a helping hand in whatever way they can. Radio host, Jeridah Andayi shared:

Kindly support her to give Pastor Beloved John a good sendoff through paybill 891300 Account number 39659 .

This has now forced the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to try and negotiate with the city hospital to wave the body preservation charges piled on the heavily pregnant singer to allow her some sanity.

In a letter addressed to the CEO of KNH, the DCI penned:

We hereby request that you consider waiving the body storage charges resulting from the retention of the body as a result of a request by the Nigerian High Commission to have time to consult the deceased’s brother in Nigeria.

Her demands

Matete is yet to pick the body from the morgue as her lawyer Mr Robert Odanga revealed that Matete first needs to know the status of the probe before she sends off her husband.

Plus, she has made demands that the embassy first clears the mortuary and burial expenses so that she can accept her late husband´s body.

Admitting that the situation has not only been disruptive to her personal life but to her brand and business as well.

At the moment everything is at a standstill. She cannot launch her album, teach at her music school or preach at her church with the dark cloud hanging over her name. The public perception is stacked against her.
