Sauti Sol blast Jalang’o after he claimed they are killing the industry: Don’t fix your brother’s collar in public

Comedian Jalang’o, during a heated exchange with Kenyan artists last month claimed that Sauti Sol are among artists who are letting the industry down.

Jalang’o said that Sauti Sol have a lot of Knowlegde on how to operate in the industry but have refused to share with local artists. According to the members, they have been tirelessly working on how they can help the industry but Jalang’o never bothered to investigate.

“Jalang’o is the biggest letdown but that’s a story for another day. I’m a letdown if i see a brother putting down another brother. He’s my guy and he knows the plans that have been underway. I would expect him to have called me first instead of politicizing the whole thing. I got really pissed and actually went off on him on that.

“Polycarp is doing a copyright course at Harvard. Just all these things. I launched Kenya writers association, those are the things he (jalang’o) didn’t know we were doing in the background so that we can have a better dispensation for our artistes.” said Bien Baraza.

Message

He added that their new record label Sol generations will show their hard work. He asked Jalang’o to avoid talking ill about his brother to look like he’s helping others.

“Labels have been started but have fallen for a reason because people are not putting organisational structure behind them. And so we’ve been doing for the last year for our fans have not been just chilling and watching Kenyan music crumble. No. We’ve been taking our time to approach this animal in a different way. To my brother jalang’o what I would say is meza dawa yako. And if i go wrong, don’t fix your brother’s collar in public,” he said.

Sauti Sol beg fans to forgive them after missing anticipated show

Sauti Sol have released a statement apologizing for missing a show in Rwanda. The band was scheduled to perform at the Pan-African Dance Festival (FESPAD) in Kigali on Sunday 29th July but couldn’t make it in time.

Sorry

Posting the statement on social media, the band said the concert had to be canceled because they had issues with the promoter.

“To all our fans in Rwanda,

“We are sorry we were unable to perform for all of you at the Pan-African Dance Festival (FESPAD) in Kigali on Sunday 29th July. We would like to take this opportunity to explain the cancellation of our performance last night as it was a disappointment to us too.” read their presser.

“This was an organisational issue with the promoters of the festival. They reached out to us and despite our busy schedule in Zambia we took the time to accommodate this show because as usual we were very excited to come play in Kigali. We always have a blast playing for our Rwandan fans!

“This was a deeply disappointing outcome and the situation was out of our hands. If it was up to us we would have rocked out like we always do!”

Gay or Straight? Kenyans debate after Sauti Sol’s Chimano’s photo

A recent post by singer Chimamo of Sauti Sol erupted into huge and rather ugly discussion in the comment section and online as a whole as majority of Kenyans argued over the singer’s sexuality.

Willis Chimano angered a section of Kenyans when he posted a picture of himself wearing nail polish, rekindling rumours that he’s gay.

#awesome #happiness #soulstyleattitude tonight was awesome! Y’all came out!!! So much love! #THANKYOU #firstgig #Australia #Perth#MelbourneAwaits #seeyoutomorrownight,” posted Chimamo who is in Australia for tour.

Chimamo, however, is not new to these rumors and allegations. For the better part of his career, the singer has been accused of being gay though other members of the band have come out to deny.

Here’s what fans had to say after the photo:

Sauti Sol and Nyashinski finally release their new video “Short N Sweet”

Sauti Sol recently surprised many by sharing that they are planning to quit music and take a long break. We are not sure whether it’s true or just another way of promoting their new track “Short N Sweet” which they have just dropped with Nyanshinski.

Hot n Sweet’s video is now officially out and its just one incredible project.

African theme

Directed by Nate Thomas, mixed and mastered by Sarthak (Wanene Entertainment) the song, like many other Sauti Sol songs, gives the African Spirit that keeps missing in many songs from the continent.

Hit or Miss? Gabu brings in superstars Sauti Sol’s Bien, Fena Gitu, Kristoff, Nyashinski, Kagwe Mungai for new song, Was it worth it?

In his first official project of 2018, P unit’s Gabu has started with a punch.

The artist has brought in a string of celebrities for his new song “Simple Lover” which is already taking over the airwaves.

Silent Collabo

Though it’s Gabu’s first single in the year, it still technically a collabo since Sauti Sol’s Bien, Fena Gitu, Kristoff, and Kagwe Mungai co-wrote the song and Yvonne Darcq, Nyashinski, and Bien also feature in the background vocals. They haven’t been listed in the song title though.

Musyoka, the veteran music producer, produced the song.
