Nothing changes

Kanumba’s father Charles Kusekwa Kanumba is however pleased that Lulu is out of prison. Mr Kusekwa claims that even if Lulu was to serve 100 years nothing would change since they have already lost their son.

Kanumba’s wife

Kanumba’s father also claims that Lulu is his late son’s wife as long as Sukuma custom and traditions are concerned. He says he is happy Lulu is finally free because she can now attend to her husband’s grave.

“Kwa mila za kabila letu la Kisukuma ni kwamba, Lulu alitambulika kama mke wa Kanumba maana hakuna mwanamke mwingine tunayemfahamu sisi hivyo natamani angeachiwa huru kabisa asiwe na kifungo cha nje na aende tu kufagilia kaburi la mumewe Kanumba na hapo atakuwa amemaliza na kuwa huru,” said Kanumba’s father.

Steven Kanumba’s mother left stranded as Wema Sepetu stands her up

Wema Sepetu dated Steven Kanumba before he died in 2012. The reason why she stood Kanumba’s mom up is even more puzzling.

Wema invited Kanumba’s mother Flora Mtegoa to her home only to lock her out when she arrived. Ms Mtegoa was not let into Wema’s compound despite knocking on her gate severally.

“Nimeumia kweli. Mama wa watu alituambia kuwa aliwasiliana na Wema, akamuambia aje nyumbani wazungumze sasa amefi ka hapa, geti halifunguliwi,” a neighbor Abdul Ndeki told Tanzanian daily Global Publishers.

“Sisi majirani hapa tumeshamzoea, hata ugonge vipi geti hawezi kukufungulia kama huna ‘apointment’ naye. Sasa kwa mama Kanumba ndio imetushangaza sana. Huyu mama tunafahamu alikuwa mkwewe, kuja kwake hapa tunaamini kwamba pamoja na kuzungumza naye, pengine angepaswa hata kumsadia chochote kitu sasa kweli amefika tangu mchana hadi jioni Wema hafungui geti, hii ni sawa na kujitafutia laana,” says Msodoki.

Bahati’s former crush Elizabeth Michael Lulu sent to prison as court finds her guilty of killing Steven Kanumba

Elizabeth Michael ‘Lulu’ has been sentenced by a Dar es Salaam court for the death of Steven Kanumba. The lass was Kanumba’s girlfriend at the time of his death.

For starters, Bahati used to be obsessed with Elizabeth Lulu before Diana Marua came into the picture. The Kenyan gospel singer confessed he traveled to Dar es Salaam in November 2016 to meet Lulu but the Tanzanian actress gave him the cold shoulder.

Lulu was today Monday November 13th sentenced to two years in prison. Dar es Salaam High Court found the actress guilty of manslaughter.

The court heard that Steven Kanumba and Lulu were lovers. Lulu was found guilty after it was determined that she was the last person to leave the deceased’s house on April 7th 2012 when he died.

Kanumba’s younger brother Seth Bosco told the court that Lulu had an altercation with the deceased on that fateful day. He explained that the two were quarreling because Lulu picked up a call from another man in the presence of the deceased.

Bosco further reveals that Lulu came out of the room and informed her that Kanumba had collapsed. The two called a doctor who declared Kanumba dead upon examining him.

Lulu’s lawyer Peter Kibatala requested the court to pardon his client. He argues that she committed the crime when she was still young.

The lawyer further begged the court to forgive Lulu saying that she is her family’s bread-winner. Kibatala asked the court to free his client so that she could continue providing for her family.

The High Court however found Lulu guilty of unintentionally killing Steven Kanumba. Kibatala vowed to challenge the ruling even as Lulu was sent to prison to start serving the two year jail term.
