“Am ok guys by the way, mambo ni ya Mungu” Late governor Gakuru’s PA speaks from the hospital bed

Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru lost his life on Tuesday morning in a grisly road accident. His Personal Assistant (PA) survived the accident without life threatening injuries.

The governor died when the Mercedes he was traveling on rammed into guardrail. The guardrail sliced the German machine causing severe injuries to the occupants.

The Nyeri governor was traveling to Nairobi at the time of the accident. Gakuru was slated to have an interview on Inooro TV before the accident claimed his life.

The car had four occupants at the time of the accident; driver Samuel Kinyanjui Wanyaga, Personal Assistant Albert Kaguru, bodyguard Ahmed Abdi and the governor.

PA survives

Gakuru’s PA Albert Kaguru survived the heart-wrenching accident that claimed the life of the governor. He spoke from the hospital bed saying that he was fine.

The PA was to Thika Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment after the accident. He states that he only suffered minor injuries.

Ghafla! Investigate: Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru is a victim of faulty guardrails. He ought to have survived the accident

Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru died when the Mercedes he was traveling in rammed into guardrails along the Thika-Sagana highway.

Preliminary investigations found out that the accident was caused by tyre burst. The Mercedes lost control when its tyre burst, veer off the road and ram into the guardrail which speared through the vehicle inflicting fatal injuries on the governor and his aides.

Ghafla! has determined that Gakuru and his aides ought to have survived the accident if the guardrails at the scene of the accident were not defective.

A standard guardrail is supported to curl off to the side when hit by a vehicle but the guardrail at Kabati sliced through the vehicle inflicting serious injuries and killing the occupants.

Standard guardrails are supposed to curl off to the side when hit in high speed. This was not the case in the accident that claimed the life of Nyeri governor

Faulty guardrails were killing and maiming hundreds of motorists in US before authorities replaced them with ones which curl off to the side when hit in high speed.

Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru has passed on in a tragic road accident along the Thika-Sagana highway. The governor died as medics prepared to airlift him to Nairobi for specialized care.

Gakuru and his bodyguard sustained serious injuries in the early Tuesday morning accident. The Mercedes they were traveling in rammed into barrier rail at Kabati along the Thika-Sagana highway in Murang’a County.

Gakuru was on his way to Nairobi for talk shows with a vernacular radio and TV. He was accompanied by his driver and a bodyguard.

The governor was taken to Thika Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment after the accident. Gakuru succumbed to his injuries as medics were preparing to airlift him to Nairobi.

Photos from the scene of the accident depict the severity of the accident. The Mercedes was completely destroyed when it hit the barrier rail.
