Wasafi Records has decided to seek out different influences to sustain their longevity and different sounds for their artists.

Diamond Platnumz’ record label, Wasafi Records also known as WCB Records has a track record of tapping into either Nigerian or Congolese influences which allow their artists and producers a wide array of sounds.

And it is actually working well enough to make Wasafi Records the biggest record label in Eastern and Central Africa. Diamond himself has gone to Nigeria, sought permission from Naira Marley and used his instrumentals and arrangements for his own song. That is how we got Baba Lao.

Then when Diamond Platnumz wants to put out yet another street anthem with a twist, he went to DRC and tapped Innos to work with him on the artist’s remix of Yope Rmx.

Diamond Platnumz is well aware that when it comes to churning out ballads, he has that covered. So he really isn’t pressed to work with anyone else for ballads. And that same formula has been adopted for Rayvanny.

The guy has tapped into West African influences for his latest collaboration with Diamond, Amaboko. The song is an upbeat street anthem that is clearly meant to get you and yours dancing with a heavy Mr real influence. It is such a dope homage to Nigerian music that in the remix if he got Mr Real or Naira Marley or better.

The reason why this is a dope strategy is the fact that it allows Wasafi records artists not just a wide array of sounds (which serves to make their albums diverse sounding and also appeal to a wider audience) but also makes it such that they can work with artists from different cultures with ease.
