Ubaya Wa Kununua Hupati Vitu Kama Hivi- Diamond Accuses Alikiba Of Buying YouTube Views For His Latest Song

The stiff beef between Tanzania’s biggest musical stars Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba was re-ignited after the release of their latest tracks; ‘Iyo’ and ‘Jealous’ respectively.

Alikiba’s new music video ‘Jealous’; featuring Nigerian star Mayarkun on Friday, July 30 fetched over 1 million views in just 12 hours.

This is what has got Diamond Platnumz at loggerheads with him. In a cryptic message wrote by him on his Instagram; he accused Alikiba for buying views.

He posted a short clip of people jamming to his song ‘Iyo’, and captioned;

”Real Definition of a Hit na wimbo pendwa… Ubaya wa vyakununua Haupati vitu kama hivi….. #IyoChallenge #IYO”

Comparing the two songs; Diamond’s ‘Iyo’ currently stands at 3.2 Million Views since it’s release 4 days ago. On the other hand, Alikiba’s ‘Jealous’ is at 3.6 Million views.

Alikiba Responds

In response to the allegations, Alikiba opted to post Stivo Simple Boy uttering his slang ‘inauma but itabidi uzoee’.

The competition among the two continues; with Diamond still holding the record for garnering 1 million views in 8 hours; and 2 million in 24 hours with his song Waah featuring Koffi Olomide.

Tanzanian musicians have recently been hailed for doing tremendously well across the continent. I bet it’s something that Kenyan artists should learn from.
