Wavinya Ndeti produces evidence of foul play as IEBC disqualifies her from Machakos gubernatorial race (Photos)

Wavinya Ndeti’s bid to unseat Alfred Mutua has been dealt a heavy blow after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) blocked her from the Machakos gubernatorial race.

Wavinya has been under siege ever since she joined Kalonzo’s Wiper from Chama cha Uzalendo (CCU), she won Wiper nominations twice after her first win was annulled by the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal.

After she comfortably won the second nomination, a complaint by the name Kyalo Peter Kyuli implored IEBC to block Wavinya from vying for Machakos gubernatorial seat on grounds that she was a member of two parties, Wiper Democratic Movement and Chama cha Uzalendo (CCU).

In his petition, Peter Kyuli argued that Wavinya ditched her CCU party for Wiper on April 6th 2017, a day after the party-hoping window had been closed by the courts.

IEBC Disputes Resolution Tribunal today June 8th resolved that Wavinya had committed an electoral offence thus quashed her nomination to vie for Machakos gubernatorial seat on Wiper ticket.

Wavinya has however maintained that she is a bonafide member of Wiper party and that even register of political parties can confirm her claim.

“I’m a bonafide member of wiper party, anyone can confirm this from register of political parties” Wavinya Ndeti tweeted.

She also produced a copy of a letter of resignation from CCU party which shows she resigned on 5th April 2017, a day before party-hoping window was closed.

“Kindly find my resignation letter from CCU party. To all my supporters be assured everything is well” Wavinya captioned the copy she shared online.
