“Why should I really boast, I was just a mali mali seller” Sultry singer Vivian recounts life as a hawker

Started from the bottom now she is here! Singer Vivian asserts that she will remain humble despite the money and fame. She says that life in poverty taught her a lot.

Vivian is among a few successful artists who came from absolute poverty to make it big. The songbird could still not afford three meals a day when she started out as a singer.

Vivian was once kicked out of stage because she dressed in clothes that depicted poverty. A promoter told her she was poorly dressed and her show was cancelled just like that.

I sold cups, plates, thermos to make ends meet

Vivian recently reminisced about her life as a hawker. The ‘Chingichanga’ hit maker says she used to sell cups, plates, thermos to make ends meet.

The songbird shared an old photo of her eating a piece of watermelon which she says was the only thing she could afford for lunch.

Vivian when she was still a hawker

“Anytime I take a look at this picture it reminds me to be more humble. Why should I really boast. By then things were so tough on me. I hadnt started singing. I was a mali mali seller. I sold cups, plates, thermos to make ends meet. The piece of watermelon was my lunch that day. Surely never despise humble beginnings. I look at my life and all I can say is God reigns over our lives. Your current situation is not your future. There is always a brighter day ahead #tbt❤️” Wrote Vivian.
