The EP beams with elements of chill-hop infused with a modern 2019 twist.

“I’m definitely pushing myself to try new things and I’m mixing & mastering every song and writing every lyric,” he said to me in an interview. “I’m just growing as a writer, producer and songwriter every day.”

The Nairobi-raised songwriter and producer first gained some lime light as a rapper. He released his debut solo single How to love in 2016, and later on his breakthrough single “Sunny Days” In 2019.

The ‘TellHerNoHela EP’ looks to become an attention grabber as the storyline finds its way into fans.

What was the process creating your upcoming EP, TELLHERNOHELA?

WillX BOY: The EP is definitely my proudest work so far as a songwriter and producer. I decided to try something that I’ve never done before in my music. I’ve incorporated a catchy storyline and collaborated with different producers on the EP. These are seven of my favourite songs that I’ve made to date.

How have you grown and evolved with this new EP?

I’m definitely pushing myself to try new things and I’m mixing & mastering every song and writing every lyric. I’m just growing as a writer, producer and songwriter every day. You can hear the growth when you listen to the music journey.

Could you talk to me about your first single of the EP, “BODY LANGUAGE,” and the inspiration behind the leading single?

“BODY LANGUAGE,” is basically about the casual approach that most guys have towards ladies, broke or not chances are he will make a move either clever or cocky. The beat is really cool; its combination of chill guitar sounds mixed in with some    Lo-Fi drums, which is awesome. The song takes you on rollercoaster and feels like a lot of different scenarios in one.

You recently dropped the lyric video for “BODY LANGUAGE.” The video is full of colour and animated art and images. What was your vision behind the lyric video?

Normally with music and lyric videos, we try to stick to a story line and try to stay pretty much in the same vein as the song and storyline of the song. For this EP, we wanted to just be artsy and just have really cool animation that are straight to the point.

Who are your musical inspirations? What artists are you listening to right now?

I am very inspired by Jon Bellion; I love his music and how unique it is. In terms of hip-hop, mostly J. Cole, Phora, YBN Cordae, and Locksmith are some of my favourite artists. I get inspiration from across the board, everything from Bob Marley to modern day music as long as it has a message or positive motive behind it.
