Stonebwoy is the stage name of Livingstone Etse Satekla, a Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae artiste. He is the CEO of Burniton Music Group. In 2015, he won Best International Act: Africa at the 2015 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards.[1] Many remember him as one of the main Reggae and Dancehall craftsmen in Africa.[2][3][4]

Satekla was conceived in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra area of Ghana and started making music in his initial school days. He learned at Methodist Day Secondary School that year with rapper Sarkodie where he picked up his High School Certificate. He proceeded with his tertiary instruction at University of Professional Studies to acquire a degree in Marketing in 2013.

He started executing as Stonebwoy since secondary school as an underground rapper. With inspiration from his family, he showed up on a mainstream rap rivalry “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM (an Accra based radio station) which highlighted Sarkodie, Dr Cryme and so forth, where thumped out a few different rappers picking up himself underground ubiquity. It was through these rap fights and his style of music which got the attention of Samini to sign him to his “Samini Music” record label.[5]

Under “Samini Music”, Stonebwoy recorded his first hit single “Peak” highlighting Samini and along these lines “Ghetto Love” including Irene Logan. The two melodies earned him assignments at the Ghana Music Awards. After this presentation, he discharged his introduction collection “Review 1 Album” under Samini Music which made him, Stonebwoy a commonly recognized name in the music business. In 2015 Stonebwoy marked an arrangement with VP Africa, a division of VP Records.

Acknowledgment and melodic style[edit]

Stonebwoy frequently ragga in Jamaican Patois (Patwa or Patwah), and is viewed as a “multifaceted rapper” because of the different melodic styles he have. In 2015, he got many honors and selections extending from “Craftsman of the Year” to “Collection of the Year”. His sophomore collection, Necessary Evil, was the beneficiary of 3 Ghana Music Awards from 6 nominations.[6]
