Instagram users will now know who is capturing their story.
Instagram is set to release a new feature that allows users know when a friend or anyone is taking screenshots or screen recording of their InstaStory.
This security feature will put a star icon close to the handle of the person that has captured one’s story. The icon will however be in the views section of the story. The app will henceforth warn you, the first time you take a shot of someone else’s story.
The warning titled ‘Screenshots in stories’, reads:
Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it.”
This, means that users will be safe from the star icon, the first time they attempt to take a shot of someone’s InstaStory. They will therefore, not be spared in subsequent attempts.
The good news, however is that the security feature can be worked around by taking a screenshot in flight mode.
