Stepanie Linus Okereke Adds Another Year; Here are Some Things You Probably Didn’t Know About the Actress

Stephanie Onyekachi Okereke was born on the 2nd of October, 1982 in Imo state. So far, Stephanie has carved a niche for herself as one of  Nollywod’s best. Here are a few things you probably didn’t know about her.

The actress is a graduate of English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar. Her  career in acting started in 1997 when as a teenager she featured in two movies, Compromise 2 and Waterloo.

In 2002, Stephanie Okereke emerged runner up at the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. A year after, in 2003, Okereke won two awards, out of the eight nominations she received, at the 2003 Reel Awards for ‘Best Actress – English’ and ‘Best Actress of the year 2003’ . With a Net Worth of about 320 Million Naira, she has acted over sixty three movies with three nominations to African Movie Academy Awards. In 2007, the actress proceeded to the New York Film Academy and upon graduation in 2007, she released a movie titled Through the Glass where she served as director, scriptwriter, producer and actress. In 2009, the film received an African Movie Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay. Again in 2014 she released the movie, Dry and again served as a director, scriptwriter, producer, and actress which won many awards for  this one.

In April 2005, on her way to the African Movie Academy Awards held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa Sate, Okereke was involved in a serious car accident that left her with burns all over and a broken leg.

In 2011, she was honoured by the Nigerian government with a National honour (Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR).

In a private wedding ceremony, the actress got married  in 2012 to Linus Idahosa in Paris, France. Stephanie Okereke had her first child, Enosata Linus  in October 2015.

Today, the actress clocks 35 and here is wishing her a more fulfilled life ahead.
