Blackface Files Lawsuit Against Wizkid and Banky W for Copyright Infringment

Blackface Slams Wizkid and Banky W with a 100 Million Naira Lawsuit.

Blackface is dragging popular Nigerian singers, Wizkid and Banky W, to court for what he calls copyright infringement.

This is for the EME Records’ 2011 song, ‘Slow Whine’, which he says is a reproduction of his song, ‘Like the Way.’ He therefore demands over a Hundred Million Naira, off the suit.

He made this known in an Instagram post, where he posted legal documents from the case.

See what he wrote below:

I have remained quiet while my name has been dragged in the mud the past few years. Some of Nigeria’s biggest artists have infringed on my copyrights but I always restricted myself to speaking out against this in the media. Maybe because I always felt that music is an art and not really a business where you bring in lawyers and all that.That’s why I couldn’t believe when I was sued for N50m by the same people who stole my intellectual property.

I have nothing personal against Wizkid & Banky, in fact I can say I groove to both their music, but the fact is that they stole my song in 2011 and there’s clear evidence to prove it. We’ll allow the Court to decide.

His words below;

Politicians are playing musical chairs with our country’s destiny. Instead of us coming together & cancelling ALL of them, some of us are picking sides, fighting on their behalf & FALSELY accusing ourselves. News flash: They’re ALL out 4 self-interest. We need an entirely new path

Adesua Etomi Reacts to her Husband’s Response to Ladies who Mocked their Car

Adesua Etomi basks in pride of her husband.

Recently, some ladies made a video of Banky W and his wife, grocery shopping and mocked their car because, according to them, it is old and belittling of their celebrity class.

Yesterday, the singer, took to social media to address the ladies. According to him, he was using the car because he wanted to have a house of his own before changing it. Now that he has a house, the car is up for auction, he said. The proceeds from the auction will be channeled towards charity, he added.

Her words below;

Adesua Etomi @AdesuaEtomi

Trust my husband to make lemonade out of Lemons. This isn’t a response to the ignorance. This is a write up of life lessons. Beautifully written baby. ???

Banky Wellington

@BankyW

Last weekend, a very creepy video was posted online, by someone making fun of my car. I wrote her an open letter. You can read it on my blog: http://bankywellington.com/dear-stalker/

Pls share with everyone you know. I really want her to read it. LOL.

Banky W explains why he is using a old model Range Rover

Banky W’s reply below:

“Dear Stalker, In response to the cringe-worthy, creepy video you made about my wife and I, I think there are some things you need to know. First of all, poverty will never be my portion in Jesus name. Also, it is a 2008 Range Rover Sport, not a 1999. Amen and Lol. Oh, and additionally, it’s currently for sale to the highest bidder. I had decided last month that I’d sell it, and whatever I got for it, I’d hand over to the “Vocational School for the Blind” in Oshodi and the “Pink Oak Cancer Trust Fund”. “My Aunt volunteers at the school, and she reminded me that they were still trying to raise some money to care for their students, so I came up with a plan. I told her that I’d give my followers the background history of my old car, and get all my celebrity friends who’d sat in it at some point or another to autograph it, and then put it up for an online auction. I figured that since I didn’t need the money from the sale to buy a new one, we could just auction it off and hopefully raise a decent enough amount of money to give back to those in need. “You see, I’ve never found it necessary to own more than one car. Mostly because I can only ever DRIVE one car at a time; and when I bought the car in 2011, I promised myself that I would never buy another car until I owned the home I live in. To me, owning a nice car might help me LOOK like I was doing okay, but owning a nice home would help me KNOW. The way my mind is set up…what good is owning a Rolls Royce, if I’m still paying rent on the house I park it in? “Over the years, as my car went from being kind-of-trendy to being just plain old, people around would occasionally wonder out loud about when I would finally buy a nicer one; I’d just smile and say to myself “not until I own my house”. I eventually did buy an additional much smaller car (a Kia), but that was only because I wanted to use it on “Uber”, so my driver could earn extra bonus money for himself and us, in his free time. I wonder how shocked and horrified you would have been if you’d seen me driving that smaller car instead (which, by the way, I do drive, occasionally). You might be happy to know that I’ve now FINALLY ordered a newer, nicer, personal car, and my wife has too. We paid for them a month ago, but we will probably never show them to you, because we don’t want you to stalk us again, but also because that’s not really any of your business – much like my old Range Rover wasn’t. The cars we are getting are relatively new this year, but the way my mind is set up, we will probably drive them for as long as possible, until we have stashed away enough money for our future kids’ complete University Education, and until we have secured a hell of a lot more real estate for them to inherit. I’m not sure how long that will take…I’m just grateful that my wife’s mind is set up a lot more like mine, than yours. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is the Best Dressed Man in Nigeria- Banky W

Banky W is all about “the Ebuka effect” in this article.

Nigerian singer, cum music boss, turned actor, Banky W, has taken some time out to pen reasons why Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is the best dressed man in Nigeria.

The TV host, who emerged 8th in the maiden edition of the BBNaija show has now hosted the show for the second straight year.

Speaking on his dress sense, the singer stated that Ebuka can transform anything he wears. According to him, he turned the BBN Sunday eviction nights to his own personal shows. Viewers looked forward to who will be evicted and what the host will wear, he said. Not even Ameriac’s Ryan Seacrest has been able to make such fashion statement as Ebuka.

According to the singer, designers now scamper to have the fashion enthusiast wear their designs.

He wrote;

I believe it’s fair to say that Ebuka is unarguably the best dressed Man in Nigeria, and possibly Africa. When you think of TV show hosts, even the extremely accomplished ones like American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest… you never really notice their style. They tend to blend into the show and become a part of the fabric; Ebuka, on the other hand, doesn’t blend in, and doesn’t just stand out… he shines. He has completely shattered the TV presenter mould; viewers look forward to the weekly Sunday Eviction shows to see who was getting kicked out, but also just to see what Ebuka wore.

He turned Sunday nights into his very own personal fashion show. His outfits trended online as much as the contestants did. In a business where stylists have to beg, plead, sweet talk and cajole designers into lending their clothes for use in productions, Ebuka turned the table upside down. Designers are instead the ones scrambling to get him to wear their pieces.

This is because he has a singular transformative immediate and long-lasting impact on their market. Case in point: Circa “#BAAD2017”, Designer Ugo Monye had less than 4k followers, and was reportedly charging an at-best modest amount for a very innovative take on the “Agbada”; he had infact displayed that style of Agbada for over 6 months, with very little fanfare or success. And then Ebuka wore it. What happened next is astonishing: the designer’s followers got up to 30k in the first 24 hours, and now sits north of 75,000. The same could be said about his revenue. That Agbada style was sold for N50,000 prior to Ebuka wearing it. And now? The very same Agbada will require you to shell out $1,000 USD. I call that ‘The Ebuka Effect’

Banky W Speaks About his Relationship with Adesua, Says he wasn’t Looking for an Entertainer for a Wife

He is happy he married Adesua.

Nigeria’s one time most eligible bachelor, Banky W, speaks about the genesis of his relationship with his wife, Adesua Etomi. According to the singer, he did a background check on Adesua back in 2015 and found she was a spiritual person; this part of her impressed him. He said he wasn’t considering getting married to an entertainer but the beautiful miss Adesua swept him off his feet.

Excerpts from his interview below.

“I met Adesua in 2015 and after inquiring about her from her manager, Isioma, I went online to search for her and found her social media handles

“I looked her up online and I liked what I saw. I googled her, stalked her on the gram and a day or two later, I slid into her DM like the real man that I am

“I had two defining moments with Adesua. One was before we started speaking. It was actually when I was stalking her and I saw a video of her and her childhood friends singing worship songs and I felt like this is really refreshing to find someone in our line of work that would readily show this part of them

“The second part when I knew was when we took a private trip somewhere and it was the first time that she danced with me and at this point, I already knew she was a spiritual girl and a praying woman. But if I can confess, I was a little bit worried that when it comes to the turn ups and the fun, I wasn’t sure if she would be free like that and the very first time she danced with me, they were playing Rihanna’s ”Work” and she danced with me. Ladies and Gentlemen, once you have the spiritual and physical, you close shop, you move

”I wasn’t specifically looking for an entertainer as a wife because of what I presumed, but she took me off the balance

“I am glad I married Adesua because she understands my business and the pressure that comes with it.

A successful wedding

The wedding between Adesua and Banky W was one of the most talked about celebrity marriages of the year 2017.

The marriage ceremonies which were actively followed on social media was on Saturday the 6th of January aired on AfricaMagic.

One can only wish the couple’s already beautiful home nothing but bliss as they journey to forever, together.
