Blackface Files Lawsuit Against Wizkid and Banky W for Copyright Infringment

Blackface Slams Wizkid and Banky W with a 100 Million Naira Lawsuit.

Blackface is dragging popular Nigerian singers, Wizkid and Banky W, to court for what he calls copyright infringement.

This is for the EME Records’ 2011 song, ‘Slow Whine’, which he says is a reproduction of his song, ‘Like the Way.’ He therefore demands over a Hundred Million Naira, off the suit.

He made this known in an Instagram post, where he posted legal documents from the case.

See what he wrote below:

I have remained quiet while my name has been dragged in the mud the past few years. Some of Nigeria’s biggest artists have infringed on my copyrights but I always restricted myself to speaking out against this in the media. Maybe because I always felt that music is an art and not really a business where you bring in lawyers and all that. That’s why I couldn’t believe when I was sued for N50m by the same people who stole my intellectual property.

I have nothing personal against Wizkid & Banky, in fact I can say I groove to both their music, but the fact is that they stole my song in 2011 and there’s clear evidence to prove it. We’ll allow the Court to decide.

Well, guess the court is the best place to settle disputes. They will decide.

Tuface Slams Blackface with 50Million Naira Lawsuit Over Song Theft Allegations

Looks like the truth between Tuface and Blackface will finally be revealed.

For a while now, singers, Tuface and Blackface have been going on and on about who wrote Tubaba’s songs, Let Somebody Love You and African Queen.

Well, it looks like the African Queen crooner has finally taken a move to quell the cock fight. According to a post by Blackface, his former group mate has taken him to court to demand 50millio Naira from him.

This, he said, is because of his claims to 2Face’s songs, which he said he wrote for him.

His post below;

2face idibia @official2baba n his manager Efe Omorogbe  Sued me for 50Million They claiming i didnt write #letsomebodyloveyou n #africanqueen n what else??Just about time me and my #legalteam filed for #mydefence
After which I will release my album

We’ll love to see how this one ends. Let the truth prevail.

Blackface’s tongue loosed because of alcohol- Ruggedman

He should go and sing another song.

Ruggedman in an interview with Saturday Beats stated that he doesn’t wish to dwell on the feud with Blackface as his open letter was all he wish to put out on the issue.

“The open letter I wrote to Blackface is actually the only thing I want to put out about the matter; I don’t want to take issues with him by talking about it endlessly, I received so many calls from people about this issue but I declined to talk about it any further.” He said.

I don’t have any problem with him. The only time I spoke about him was when Tuface wanted to stage a protest but decided not to go through with it and he started talking about Tuface. He made statements like, ‘Is it an artiste that has women everywhere that would lead a protest?’ All I said was that he should relax because he was making it too obvious that he nursed a grudge against Tuface and he should let it go. Since then, we have been cool and I had even put his name as part of the performing artistes for a show that I want to do next year. We had spoken about it and he agreed to be a part of the show only for him to say unpleasant things about me in an interview.” He added

Going further, he said:

He said that after my hit song, ‘Ehen Ehen,’ there has been nothing from me. Even though the interviewer mentioned that I had other songs that did very well, he said that I had stopped preaching against people copying themselves in the industry. He said I should have continued the trend and I was amazed at the statement. He wants me to keep recycling concepts without evolving because that is what he has been doing and that is why I wrote what I wrote that every opportunity he gets to be in front of a camera, he keeps saying the same thing that they stole his song, ‘African Queen.’ He should go and sing another song. Like I said, I love his album, ‘Ghetto Child’, because he had some social conscious songs on the album.

“To me, calling my name in the interview was not necessary but as he has done so, I decided to answer him and this is the last time I would talk about it. I never had any issues with him; I guess it was the alcohol they gave him there that loosened his tongue and he began to talk anyhow.”

Blackface in a spectacular move that seems to prove that he hasn’t just been bluffing has released evidence to prove that Tuface stole his song and even admitted to it. His postt below.

Sometimes people push you to the wall and you have no choice but to fight back
This is one of my conversation some years back with @official2baba when i Asked him why did he record my song #Letsomebodyloveyou without my #permission and this was his reply saying he thought he told me but really he didn’t.. and why add your manager as a writer also? so you guys can steal my publishing money? And when asked why you stole my song #Letsomebodyloveyou you Tuface said it wasn’t true and maybe my twitter Account was hacked N after which you unfollowed me but I had this saved for many many years so you can see the level of lies you been feeding fans and people all along

Daddy Showkey Cautions Blackface, Advices him to Stop Ranting

Daddy Showkey weighs in on the rift between Tuface and Blackface.

In an instagram post, Daddy showkey calls out on Blackface, advising him to make music instead of ranting.

He also called out on Pulse TV for saying Tuface should come up with his own side of the story. The singer advised the media house to create peace not war as they do not know where the two started.

Advising Tuface not to respond to anyone, Daddy Showkey attributed the rift between the two to jealousy.

He Wrote…

I don’t see why people like building issues out of nothing. What do you want Tuface to come and say about him and Blackface? O boy! You and your pulse tv, make Una go sleep if una no get something to talk. If you want to make peace, you don’t create war! You don’t call people out to start saying things about one and another. “You are Now a Veteran Upcoming Artist”-Ruggedman Pens Open Letter to Blackface

Ruggedman has some words for Blackface.

In reaction to Blackface’s interview with Pulse, veteran rapper, Ruggedman has taken some time out to advice the singer.

In his letter, Ruggedman advised blackface to hit the studio as much as he rants so he can make good music. Advising the singer to stop accusing Tuface, the rapper stated that Tuface owes him (Blackface) nothing so he should let him be.

The rapper also stated that the media is using Blackface to generate content and turning him into a laughing stock.

His Letter…

My dear @blackfacenaija I greet you. I saw your little interview on @pulsenigeria247 and decided to take a little time off to answer your call. I have been doing my best in setting good examples for young cats and I feel great seeing them doing good. It’s sad I have to write this, but they will understand.

I am and will always be a fan of your one and only album “Ghetto Child” that had some conscious tracks in it. By the way, i am sure you are not blind and can see that Nigeria is still not as great as we want. So why aren’t you singing everyday about it like you said you expected me to keep doing about artists copying?

Every time I read about you on social media you are complaining and ranting. If your people around you wont tell you the truth i will.  You are begining to look like a sad, jelouse, washed up artist who can’t keep up with his fellow artists. Like you can’t make music anymore.

An example is the fact you claim you wrote certain songs @official2baba allegedly stole.
A grown man would hit the studio and record more of such songs like 2baba, myself, @soundsultan , the great @daddyshowkey , @realafricanchina and  @oritsefemi have been doing and prove to the world you wrote them. But you turn town crier at any opportunity you get in front of a camera. I dont want to believe that complaining on interviews and calling artists names is your only hold on relivance.

You should be smart enough to see that the media are manipulating you for content and turning you into a laughing stock. My brother you are too talented and too old for all this.
You are now a veteran upcoming artist bro. Putting my name in your interview was a wrong move.

So my sincere advice to you is face the fact that @official2baba is not your dad and owes you nothing. Let the man drink water and drop cup.If you had proof of your claims you would have gone to court all these years.

The fact that you are old in the game doesn’t make you an analyst.
Not every old man is wise and the even the wise ones know when and how to talk.
My brother if you hit the studios as much as you rant, I know one good song would have come out.

This is the last time I will talk to you on these matters.God bless

How 2face reacts to Blackface and Eedris Abdulkareem

2face to Blackface and Eedris Abdulkareem

Nigerian music star, 2face is known for his humility and honesty even in the face of criticism. But when some people like Blackface and Eedris Abdulkareem won’t respect themselves they definitely deserve a trash from Baba himself.

It was earlier reported on Ghafla that Blackface criticized his new album. Also Eedris slammed him on his music and family life few months back.

See how 2baba replied them on twitter:

Blackface says Tuface needs better writers, calls his latest album ‘broken’

No matter how much bigger Tuface gets in his career, Blackface doesn’t seem to ever want to own up to the singer’s successes.

In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria’s Loose Talk, the ex Plantashun Boiz singer, Blackface, talked about his former team mate, Tuface Idibia, stating that he needs someone on his trail to tell him to do the right things stating that his music is not as good as the music their defunct group, Plantashun Boiz produced.

The singer added that Tuface can do better as he (Blackface) knows what his former teammate is capable of if he has the right people around him, adding that his Manager, Efe Omoregbe needs to get him writers, describing his most recent album as “broken.”

“2face needs somebody to be on his toe to tell him to do the right things, he is just that kind of artist. If you check his music right now, you can see the difference. You can’t compare his music right now to Plantashun Boiz’s music. It’s nowhere close. Melody wise, music wise, sound wise, he is nowhere close.”

“Why I am tough on 2face is because he can do better, and he isn’t trying to do better, I don’t think he has people around him that are trying to make him do better. From management to everything. If Efe Omoregbe his manager is here, I will tell him to his face. He is not trying at all.  He needs to get writers for the boy…We just heard his last record (‘Ascension’ album) and it is broken,” He said.

We would recall that Blackface is not one of Tuface Idibia’s greatest fans as the former Plantashun Boiz Star always spares no time to lash out on the singer at the slightest opportunity. Blackface has in the past accused Tuface with so many allegations.
