Singer Dija advocates for a change in the age of consent in Nigeria which is 11

Mavins singer and mother of two, Dija shared a post on the current age of consent in Nigeria which is currently 11. This is according to  Nigeria Age of Consent and Statutory Rape Laws.  The law states that:

“the statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual contact with a person under age 11 year”.

Dija thinks something must be done to this law which is not good enough.

She wrote:

”Just going to drop this here and hear your thoughts …. We have come a long way, we have advanced beyond comprehension in a short amount of time, music, lifestyle, agriculture and are still growing. That being said there are some areas I believe needs more attention and this is one of them.
There are many ways to go around this issue but the best one is to go through it… This isn’t a fight against religion, tribe, gender but a redirection of our energies and thought processes to protect the ones that birth your nation. If children become psychologically, physically and emotionally damaged before a certain age all you will have are adults with suppressed memories of abuse, which lead to psychological mind ware-fare.. #saveme

The easiest way to destroy any nation is by creating fear rather than respect.

Mavin songbird, Di’Ja, has taken to social media, to share pictures of herself and her husband, Rotimi, enjoying a stroll at the beach.

Sharing the photo with a nice caption, the mother of two describes her man as her partner in everything. Life is about the love you make, she wrote.

Di’ja revealed that she put to bed on the 9th of March.

Mavin singer, Di’ja, who is well known for keeping her private life private, has announced the birth of her second child.

The singer took to her IG page to make the announcement as she thanks all those that have been supportive of her.

She revealed that she was heavily pregnant when she shot her most recent video, ‘Gbadun’. She however thanked the director for helping her conceal her pregnancy.

It is no surprise that she was able to keep her pregnancy away from the news. She had shocked many in 2015, when she got married to her husband, Rotimi, in a very low key wedding ceremony.
