Actress, Dayo Amusa Shares her Thoughts on the Reasons Why Women Attract Damaged Men

The actress seems to have had a sober reflection on women attracting damaged  men and focusing their energy on repairing them while they neglect themselves.

In the wave of Nigerian female celebrities  suffering from domestic violence and in what seems to be a sober reflection, Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa took to her Instagram page yesterday to share her thoughts on  women attracting men that are damaged beyond repair whom she says turn out to be  a disappointment.

She wrote…

“I used to be a fixer. I stayed in bad relationships, attracting the same type of men—men who needed to be fixed.

I know so many women in the same position. We attract cheating men, commitment-phobic men, emotionally unavailable men, emotionally damaged men, alcoholics, drug abusers, narcissists and sociopaths.

It’s like we are a magnet for men whose pieces are shattered all over the place. And for some reason, we feel compelled to put these pieces back together.

But I must admit, I have failed every single time.

I never gave myself a chance to sit back and question my motives. Instead of asking why I constantly felt obligated to pick up someone else’s broken pieces, I ran to pick them up without a second thought. Being selfless made me think that coming second didn’t matter because I was putting someone else’s worthiness first. And in the end, rank doesn’t matter, right?

I realized that the reason I was attracting these types of men was because I believed I could save them.

As selfless, thoughtful, giving women, we think we will be “that woman”—the one who will change them. We think we can turn a cheater into a loyal boyfriend. We think we can help him walk away from the drugs and alcohol. We believe we can help him get over his commitment issues and aim for a stable future with us. We trust that we can get rid of the emotional baggage that he has been carrying for years.

We attract these men because we believe they need us. And to leave them would be selfish, insensitive and ruthless.

The sad news is, we constantly blame ourselves when they don’t change. Every time they fail us, we think it’s because we failed them. Their hold on us becomes stronger; they keep us around knowing they have nothing to offer.

It’s just my view. What’s your view??? Let’s interact.#JustMyView #JMVwithDayoAmusa #TAO #millionshadesoftao.”

25 Years Later, RMD and Ego Boyo to Re-Unite for a Project

If you don’t remember the TV series Checkmate, you will remember the movie, Violated. Well, the TV sweethearts from these blockbusters are set to grace our screens again, in a new project.

Richard Mofe Damijo took to Instagram yesterday to announce that he and Ego Boyo, the President of International Women’s Society. He wrote…

“My journey with Ego Boyo started nearly 30 years ago, our first encounter being on the production of CHECKMATE when my dear friend Amaka Igwe pulled me in as the villain Segun Kadiri on the highly coveted TV series. One of the most remarkable things about Ego is that despite the fact that she is born with a silver spoon into the family of the highly respected late Justice Nnamani she was super disciplined (she still is), very humble and extremely committed. Our status as Nigerian TV sweethearts rose with the movie VIOLATED as ‘Tega’ and ‘Peggy’ became the toast of Violated fans. Since then Ego has gone ahead to becoming wife, mother, accomplished business woman and the president of International Women’s Society.
Over 25 years later Tega and Peggy are back together again on my new TV “DramCom” The Mr X Family Show. I can only hope that getting back together again on TV will tickle fans of Ann Hathrope and Segun Kadiri and the fans of Tega and Peggy who have been craving to have them grace their TV screens again. Ego and I are pretty excited about this and hope the excitement catches on. We are curious to see how many people or if anyone can correctly guess what we’re back together as… Mr and Mrs? Secret Lovers? Siblings? Colleagues?…
Somebody?! Anybody?! Let the guessing game begin.
Whatever their roles in the upcoming project will be, we don’t know yet but we know we certainly can’t wait to have them grace our screens again.

“Alter Ego” is the story of successful law attorney, the beautiful Ada Igwe (Omotola Jalade Ekeinde), who has focused a substantial part of her law practice on seeing all sex offenders in the city, especially child molesters, go to jail. Her penchant for punishment against sex offenders even goes beyond the four walls of the courtroom. Whenever she cannot get the judges to imprison an offender, she finds other ways to punish him. She is a passionate law enforcement agent but that is just one side of her. The other Ada happens to be an extremely sexually active person who neither time nor place can stop her urges when they come to her.

The movie which was produced by Esther Eiyibo and directed by Moses Inwang, featured actors such as Wale Ojo, Jide Kosoko, Kunle Remi, Bobby Obodo, Sexy Steel and Gregory Ojefua.

Alter Ego has been so rated for three major reasons; it is the comeback movie for leading Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde after a three year hiatus, the seeming sex scenes featuring Omotola has set tongue wagging and the producers went all out for the production that has been described by Omotola herself as ‘pushing the envelopes’.

Today, we are Crushing on One of Nollywood’s Most Handsome…

Meet Obinna Nwafor, A. K.A Saint Obi,  our Man Crush this Monday; the handsome veteran actor who quit acting to chase bigger courses.

Born of the 16th of November, actor Saint Obi (not his real name) was one of Nollywood’s finest actors. Known for his role in Nollywood’s action thrillers, Saint Obi was named the James Bond of Nollywood.

His career started after he did a TV commercial on NTA for Peugeot Nigeria in 1996. The veteran actor who stopped acting a long time ago has starred in over sixty Nollywood blockbusters. He is a singer, producer and a director.

Siant Obi studied Theater Arts at the University of Jos, this is in line with his early childhood dream of becoming an actor. When asked why he quit acting, in an Interview with Dialy Sun in 2010, Saint Obi answered, “As one grows older, you realize that you do not need to be in all the movies. If you have been following my career, as years went by, from doing 10 movies in a year, I reduced it to six. I later reduced to one per year, because I felt that it’s not how many times you appear in a movie but how well you act,” the actor explained.

People call me all the time to come and feature in their movies, but I always decline. My reasons are that, as you move around you have other aspirations and other opportunities appear. In Igbo parlance, you don’t watch a masquerade display in one spot; you have to move around to get the total view.

Any smart person will take advantage of any opportunity that comes, there are a million and one businesses out there that align with what one’s profession. The Dangotes of this world do a million businesses; they don’t stick to one business and become who they are today.

I didn’t stop acting because jobs stopped coming but because I needed to do other things. However, I am still involved in the industry even though it is mostly behind the camera.”

Our MCM was best known for his roles in “Take me to Mamma,” “Festival of Fire,” “More than a Woman,” “Final Whistle” among others.

The illegal deployment of the Military to invade the East is part of the October 1st plan. Please, all Igbos and Biafrans in general should evacuate the north as soon as possible because Buhari and his men are up to something bad but they shall be buried in the pit they are digging.
