Nigerian songbird, Seyi Shay has revealed some of her plans for this year and beyond, and marriage features prominently in it.

This was at an interview with Punch where she stated that she wants to get married. According to her, she has a lot of work slated for the year so she doesn’t think marriage will be possible this year.

Seyi Shay says she wants to start a family and have kids

Also, the singer says she desires to have children but with the amount of work she has to do, she can’t run around with pregnancy. The 33-year old, however, stated that she feels for her would-be husband because of the demands of her job.

Her words below;

I will get married and start a family soon but I don’t think it will happen this year. With the volume of work I have to do this year, I will feel sorry for my would-be husband. I will have to run around a lot and I don’t think I can do that with pregnancy. This year, I want to release more music and a new extended play album. I will also release videos for every song I put out.

Seyi Shay speaks on the difficulties facing Nigerian female artistes.

Superstar singer, Seyi Shay, speaks on the reasons why the Nigerian music industry has more males than females.

According to her, finance is one of the major things hindering artistes. She however, noted that with or without the finance, it is more difficult for female artistes in Nigeria.

This was in an interview with Naijaloaded, where she stated the reasons why she decided to move to Nigeria, despite making waves in the UK, under Mathew Knowles.

Singer, Seyi Shay has revealed her wish to settle down with Mr. Right soon. This was in an interview with Saturday Beats, where she spoke on her relationship with her mum before she died.

She wishes that her mum was alive to see all that she has become, she said. According to her, the only thing her dad now does is to pray for her.

Currently all my father does is to pray for me. Before my mother died, her last words to me were that I should become all I can be and I would eventually make it in Nigeria. I really miss my mother and I wish she could see everything that I am doing now.

I wish she could see that I have not given up despite the setbacks I encounter in my job. I think my mother would be proud of me.

“If my mother was alive, I am sure she would always ask me when I would introduce her to my fiancé but before her death, she never pressured me about marriage.

Before she died, she told me that I should make sure I have done everything I wanted to do before any other thing. She said I should not let any man stop my dream.

That is what she said to me. Now, I am ready for marriage, I even sang about it in my new project.
