‘He has been allowed to go about his business’ Davido’s Lawyer Declares After Singer Publicly Forgives those that Accused him of the Death of his Friend

After what seemed like a very long train of investigations to ascertain the cause of the death of Davido’s friend, Tagbo Umeike, there is finally good news as singer has been cleared by the Police of any wrongdoing.

According to a member of Davido’s legal team led by Norrison I. Quakers, SAN who spoke to Linda Ikeji’s blog, the singer is not guilty of any crime relating to the demise of the deceased so he has been released by the Police to go about his business.

“We’ve been to Panti and my client has given a statement there too. It’s clear from all the investigation, evidence and statements given so far that David was not at any point with the deceased after he left him alive at Shisha room as as such he’s been released to go about his business.

Of course if called on to give any more information he would gladly. But in truth he only knew so much about the night and has reproduced this time and time again. They’ve also observed the consistency between his statements and those of all the others interviewed. As as a result he’s been allowed to go,” Bobo. F. Ajudua said.

Davido had earlier taken to his Insta story to thank all those who prayed for him and for the media houses, blogs and persons who accused him wrongly, he said he sincerely forgave and is ready to go back to doing music.

Now that it’s all over, we hope to go back to enjoying good music from the ‘If’ crooner.

Tagbo’s Death: Police Commissioner Explains why Davido is Being Investigated

As investigations to ascertain the cause of the death of Davido’s friend and actress, Caroline Danjuma’s lover Tagbo Umuike continues, the Lagos State police commissioner gives reasons why Davido is under investigation

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Imohimi Edgal in an interview on Channel TV’s Breakfast Show, Sunrise Daily, said that the singer is being investigated because his actions are suspicious.

“I asked Davido that, ‘When you left that bar, did you have anything again to do with the deceased?’ What he said was that he was only informed by mutual friends in some other bar that the deceased had died and I took his word for it.

I called for further investigations, pulled the CCTV cameras from the General Hospital, only to discover that it was Davido’s escort Hilux van, his driver, his friends that brought Tagbo Umeike (the deceased) dead and dumped in the hospital then fled the scene.

That raises curiosity and of course that’s what we are investigating, and that was why I ordered that the matter be moved to outstate CID at Yaba for proper investigation and of course, we will duplicate the case file and forward to DPP, Ministry of Justice for legal advise.

When Actress Caroline Danjuma came up on Instagram that Tagbo Umeike was in the company of the Pop-star, Davido and friends when he died and she suspects foul play.

I was forced to call all parties involved to my conference room as a kind of pre-investigation fact-finding and Davido was there with his family and friends, the victim’s family and friends plus Caroline Danjuma.

I asked questions. I remember even telling Caroline Danjuma that ‘Look you don’t go on your Instagram page without verifying facts because a person’s reputation is concerned.

It is an open sincere process here. We are not speculating, we are basing our reports on facts.” he said.

“There’s More to this Death,” Tagbo’s Family Releases Official Statement

Following the recent turns of events and the release of the autopsy report of late Tagbo Umeike, the Umeike family has released an official statement, stating that they will make sure to get to the root of the matter.

Speaking for the family in a statement released by Mrs Araka, the deceased family thinks there is more to the death of the late friend of singer, Davido and actress Caroline Danjuma’s lover and the family will make sure the root of it.

She said:

We, the family of Tagbo Ifeatuchukwu Umeike, received the shocking news of the passing of our brother on October 3 at about 8:55p.m., several hours after his demise. Since his passing, there have been several stories making the rounds, especially on social media, regarding Tagbo’s personality and the circumstances concerning his death. For a family that is trying to come to terms with the passing of their loved one, some disparaging and unfounded comments and statements about his personality and life, especially from individuals who did not even know Tagbo, have been received with a lot of sadness.

“Tagbo looked out for everyone and had a big heart; he was a friend to all and loved by many. Evidence received so far suggests that there is more to his death and we, as a family, will ensure that the truth regarding the circumstances of his passing will be brought to light. At this point, we will like to thank the Lagos State Police Force, led by Acting Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, for their diligence and professionalism in carrying out their investigation. We are pleased to say that we now have a clearer picture of the events leading up to Tagbo’s untimely demise. As it is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to disclose any further information, but suffice to say the truth will come out! We would like to kindly ask that the print media and blogs covering this story refrain from printing hearsay and fabrications and stick to the facts, while respecting that the family is grieving.”

The controversy surrounding Tagbo’s death started when Caroline Danjuma called out on Davido to provide the deceased whom he was hanging out with the night he died.

Tagbo: Davido Quizzed for Lying, Driver, Two Others Arrested

As investigations on the cause of the death of Davido’s friend, Tagbo, continues, the Lagos state police command, has revealed that Davido has more questions to answer.

The result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased has revealed that he died of asphyxia (suffocation) which is contrary to earlier reports that stated that he died of excessive intake of alcohol.

The acting commissioner of the Lagos State police command, yesterday, told reporters that CCTV footage from the General hospital has proved that Tagbo was Brought in Dead by Davido’s escort driver, Tunde Usutu and two of Davido’s other friend, Agbeje Olaoye and Idris Busari who abandoned the deceased inside his ash Toyota Camry LSD378EL.

“On October 3, at about 9:20am, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of General Hospital Lagos, Oparanti Moshood, alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Lion Building that an unidentified male was brought in dead (BID) in an Ash Toyota Camry Saloon car marked LSD378EL by two unidentified males.

“From the international passport found in the deceased’s car, the DPO gave his identity as Tagbo Umeike. Immediately after, one Caroline Danjuma, an actress and the victim’s fiancee, published on her Instagram page that her boyfriend died in the company of one David Adeleke, alias Davido and friends.

“To be objective and verify facts, I called for a pre-investigation meeting in my conference room. In attendance were all parties including family, friends of the deceased; those of Davido; Caroline Danjuma; the DPO and investigating officers.

“The meeting confirmed that the deceased Tagbo Umeike on that day met and had drinks with friends at Shisha Bar amongst whom was Davido. The bar tender confirmed the deceased had as much as 40 tots of Tequila and exhibited signs of drunkenness.

The CCTV footage also confirmed this.

“Davido had told the police he had left Shisha Bar for DNA Night Club in Victoria Island without the deceased and was only informed by mutual friends of his death while he was at DNA.

“However, investigation revealed that Davido’s white Toyota Hilux escort driver, Tunde Usutu, accompanied by one Agbeje Olaoye and one Idris Busari, both Davido’s friends, took the deceased to the General Hospital Lagos and abandoned him in his vehicle on the instruction of Davido.

“The CCTV footage at the hospital picked the escort vehicle and the entire activity. The vehicle was recovered from Davido’s residence at 7, Awoshika Street, Lekki Phase 1.

“This completely debunks Davido’s claim that he did not know how the deceased got to the General Hospital. The interim autopsy report stated that the victim died of Asphyxia.”

Davido cancels ‘Felabration’ performance in honour of late friends, dedicates AFRIMMA Awards to them

Tough times certainly hit hard on Davido as he lost three off his friends within a week, the singer, has so far risen to the demands of these times.

After a stretch of hard blows have been dealt on the singer in recent times owing to the death of his friends, Tagbo, Olu and Chime, Davido got a taste of fresh air as he won two awards in the just concluded AFRIMMA Awards which he dedicated to his late friends, Tagbo and Olu.

“One for Olu, One for Tagbo ?! Nothing but love, support, and positive energy came from you guys! Thanks for you guys for keeping me motivated. This is ‘OUR’ Award. Thank you Afrimma! Thank you, Lord.”

He took to snapchat to announce tthe ccacelatinon of his performance at ‘Felabration’ slated for tomorrow, the 11th of October 2017.

”To all my fan expecting me at Felabration, I’m sorry I would not be performing anymore. I promise to make it up. I love you guys.Everyone stay prayed up”. He wrote.

Following the snaps of on the cancellation, he posted another with said ”Mathew 5:4”. the Bible verse reads, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

The autopsy report which was said to have been taken from a US based website is said to belong to Kenneka Jenkins, an American teenager who died in a hotel freezer.

Replacing Kenneka’s name with that of Tagbo, online sources circulated the autopsy as Tagbo’s.

The report below…

“A statement by the coroner’s office said, “Alcohol and topiramate are synergistic. When combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced.

Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, impaired concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgment.

Central nervous system depression, or impairment, combined with cold exposure can hasten the onset of hypothermia and death.”

According to CBS Chicago, a Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy revealed that cold exposure was a substantial factor in the 19-year-old’s death. She was also found to have alcohol and drugs in her system capable of better easing her into the early stages of hypothermia, later leading to her death.

Toxicology tests detected alcohol and topiramate, a medication for epilepsy and/or migraines in a woman’s system, in Jenkins’. Her blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was at 0.112, higher than the 0.08 legal limit for driving in the state of Illinois, the coroner’s office stated.

Jenkins didn’t have a prescription for any type of topiramate medication, according to her family. The coroner’s office claims the amount of drug in Jenkins’ system was in the “therapeutic range.

Caroline Danjuma confirms relationship with Tagbo, denies him being her baby daddy

Caroline Danjuma has spoken up on her own knowledge of the day Tagbo passed on, she has also reacted to the allegations of the twitter user who claimed that Tagbo was the father of her third child, Elizabeth.

This was in an interview with SDK where the actress spoke extensively on the details she has been able to gather on evens surrounding the death of her friend Tagbo whom she said was supposed to have visited her that night but didn’t show up.

“I really cant believe that I am talking about Tagbo like this because he was not one who liked publicity.

Firstly I would like to address this whole razzmatazz about David killing Tagbo and that i said so,i never said but yes,i did call out Davido to know the whereabouts of Tagbo but i never said he killed him,i never used that word”Killed Tagbo”.

The last time i heard from Tagbo was on Monday when i just got back from MFM Church praise and worship which took about 7-8 hours Around part 8pm to ask me where I was::I had invited him for the programme but he didnt show up..he called and asked where i was and when i said i was home,he said he was coming over.

I was tired but didnt want to sleep off because if Tagbo comes he would ring the bell.so i went upstairs to watch CNN to keep myself awake until he comes and for some reason i slept off and woke up by part 1am or 2am and as you know the normal ritual was to call your friends the next day when they are celebrating their birthday.

I felt bad that i had not called Tagbo because Tuesday was his birthday.I tried calling him but his number was switched off but i thought it was network and continued trying but it was switched off and i concluded that maybe his battery was down.

I sent him a text message to wish him Happy Birthday and i went to bed.
I woke up at5-6am to do my normal routine and looked at my phone and there was no missed call or reply to my SMS:They day went on and I kept trying his number but until 3pm his number was switched off..

I was out at the Bank when Tagbos childhood friend called me and said that he wanted to talk about tagbo,he was just asking random questions.
I told him i would call him back.I am aware that Tagbo was trying to do his Schengen visa so i called the guy helping him out to ask if she had heard from him but she said Tagbo was supposed to deliver some documents but had not.

I got home and called Kola back around 4pm and this was when Kola revealed to me that Tagbo was dead…I thought it was a joke because Tagbo does not drive carelessly,he doesn’t fight,he is not one to be seen in a place where people are fighting..if he is angry he walks away.
I was confused.

I decided to call the mum to find out if he went to Anambra to see his mum like he said he would to collect some documents…So i called the mum and she said she had not seen Tagbo.
I sent the sister a message that i heard Tagbo was dead and she should help me find out if it was true.The sister replied asking ”how when and where” and then i knew that she was unaware.

So i decided to call my neighbour who was also Tagbos friend and my neighbour who was holidaying in Lebanon called me back and said that there was a bet of 200k and that Tagbo drank about 50 shots of tequila and i said that cannot be true.Tagbo cannot drink even a glass of hennessey because he has a light brain like me .

So a guy who cannot drink this much cannot finish 50 shots of tequila..Tagbo does not need 200k to do that.
He comes from a very wealthy background so he does not need that kind of bet,he is not hungry for that.I was shattered to hear such a news,I went into my office and sat down.

I tried to find out where Tagbo was and Kola said he had been trying his best to find out but that each time he calls the people would drop the phone on him or tell him they would call back.
So for one hour and despite trying severally,we had not gotten any info to where Tagbos body was or what hospital he was taken to…

Tagbos friend chucks made some calls and found out that Tagbo was taken to Lagos island.
Meanwhile someone who rented my bar told me he was with Davido at Shisha bar on Monday and then i asked him randomly ”oh then you must know tagbo” cos Davido and tagbo are close friends and the only reason tagbo would be there is if Davido was there…that is on that birthday eve
The guy confirmed he met Tagbo and that was when he knew they were birthday mate and he also said they had fun and went from there to DNA to party..this was all before i heard Tagbo had died…so my impression then was oh Tagbo was having fun and that was why he hadn’t gotten back to me..

I called the same guy when i heard tagbo had died and asked him to find out what happened and he said he was trying to but every time he called Davidos team and mentioned tagbos name they would drop the phone on him and this was what they had also done to anyone who calls and mentions his name.
Davido knew and his crew knew Tagbo was dead at as 3a.m in the morning and they did not contact anyone,Davidos PA Lati knows where Tagbo stay but did not go to the house to inform anyone.

After we had that Tagbos body was in Lagos island Davidos crew refused to give any info and this was about past 7pm.
I contacted someone who remembers seeing davido and tagbo and DNA and remembers there was a fight.
This person also told me there was a bet and said the same thing my neighbour said but said 30 shots and not 50.
According to what was said,Tagbo drank the tequila and got intoxicated and wanted to drive his car but Davido refused and said tagbo should drive with him..that was what i heard and that they drove to G12 beach and got out leaving Tagbo in the car all locked up and that one of the crew members came back saw tagbo gasping for air…this was the info they spread out there from a supposed eye witness.

He was taken to general hospital where he was confirmed dead and they left him there…..
We went there with Nabila and Mary who can confirm what was said…We were told that he was dumped and those who brought him ran away.
The doctor told us that when the nurse were trying to fix the card,the two people that brought him ran away and their footage could not identify those who brought him and ran cos they hid their faces with caps.
They refused to tell us anything,the medical director told us that because they ran away it was now a police matter and that we should go to the police station.
I posted online asking Davido why they abandoned Tagbo on my way to the police station because i was so angry and needed answers.

I sent Davido personal messages but he didnt reply until i called him out on the social media and he told me to take down the post and he would tell me what happened.I took down the post and told him to come to the police station but he never showed up..Tagbos family members came from far but davido and his manager did not show up.

Tagbos phone and shoes are missing and someone went on tagbos instagram and deleted all the videos he posted of being with davido on that day and eventually deleted the account.we quickly munched all the videos on snap chat…tagbo was with Dammy Krane,Davido and Asha asika.
Davido knew that tagbo was dead but kept quiet.He told the Police later that he would have spoken out if i didnt call him out on the social media..can you imagine.
Tagbo meant everything to a lot of people…his widowed mum who is recovering from an ailment ..I am pleading with anybody who has info on who drive tagbos dead body to the hospital to come forward…

We want to know what happened and how tagbo died.Davido we are not calling you a killer but we need to know hat happened to Tagbo,you owe him this because he loved you like a brother,he took you like a brother,do it for him and call out the people you assigned to drive him…Please.

I have woken up t see all sorts of allegations and it is really laughable because the whole idea is to divert the attention form the questions i am asking about what happened to Tagbo. I will address this once and for all.Number one,i met Tagbo when i was legally divorced and out of My ex’ house to start a new life…….
Yes we were dating.

My daughter is three years old and I only met Tagbo last year,so its not possible that tagbo is the father of Elizabeth.
The person who posted that info claims to have Tagbos phone and claims he went to DNA with Baba,who is baba?

Let us leave sentiments aside,trying to blackmail me to keep quiet will not work or change anything.we need justice for Tagbo..
No one is accusing anyone of being a murderer but we need to know what happened and why everyone is quiet…My anger is that he was abandoned by those supposed to be his friends and brothers.Davido and Tagbo were very close and I am angry with Davido for keeping quiet.
Those who drink tequila should come out and confirm if 30 shots of tequila is strong enough to kill..

Davido Gives his Version of Events that Led to Tagbo’s Death, Twitter User Claims Tagbo was Caroline’s Baby Daddy

Following allegations and counter allegations surrounding the death of Davido’s friend and Caroline Danjuma’s family member’s death, one keeps wondering what went down that night.

To clear his name off murder allegations made by Caroline Danjuma, Davido, yesterday paid a visit to the office of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to give his own side of the story.

The singer told the police that he left Tagbo in the Shisha room of the night club and had tried without success to get him in his car so that was the last he saw of the deceased.

An anonymous source who spoke to Pulse TV today, however claims that the singer and his friends were playing drinking games which the winner was to win an iPhone 8 and the sum of 200,000 Naira.

According to the source, CCTV camera revealed that Tagbo was being forced into Davido’s car against his will so they had to put him in his own car… ”Now they don’t want to tell us how he got to the hospital. That is the question. How did he get to the hospital? Because the police met his car and his body in the hospital with no one”, the source said.

He also claimed that Davido’s manager, Asa Asika was arrested with his workers and brought to the Lion Building at CMS where the The Nigeria Police Area ‘A’ Command is located.

The source stated further that he does not understand why Davido couldn’t come out clean about the death of his friend, he understands that no one ‘wants wahala’ ”but Davido is a celebrity, what was he running for, nobody will accuse you of anything. Just let us know what happened when the autopsy will tell us whats up! I don’t know why everybody is just avoiding him like they are not his friends” he said.

Meanwhile a twitter user who also pleaded anonymity has claimed that Tagbo isn’t Caroline’s family but the secret father of her third child.
