“We Dance Tosyn”, Funke Bucknor Pens Emotional Message to Late Tosyn Bucknor

Almost a month after her demise, the only sister of late OAP, Tosyn Bucknor has taken to social media to send an emotional message to her.

Sharing a video of herself dancing to Davido’s star studded super women video, the OAP speaks to her late sister. According to her, she is still praying for strength to pull through with all the plans they had for December.

Noting however, that she appeared in the music video, she stated that her sister did not get to see her in it. ‘We dance, she said. She however asks for prayers for her mother and the husband of the deceased.

Funke Bucknor’s note below;

We dance tosyn , I’m dancing again tosyn… I miss you so terribly .. You didn’t get to see me in this new video by @davidoofficial @asaasika . Yes I was a video somebody lolllllllll as a wonderwoman and superwoman… TOSYN that strength is keeping me going ohhhhhhhhh and I’m looking forward to all our marathon of events this December. Even in death, Tosyn Bucknor’s legacy still lives on. The past weeks since her death, so many people have poured in their tributes. Now, a song titled “Angels Don’t Die” has been released in her loving memory. The song was performed by Falz, Simi, Moelogo, and Sessbeats. According to them, the money made from the streams and downloads will go to a charitable cause of her family’s choice.

Tosyn Bucknor: Late OAP to be Buried on Thursday

The family of late OAP, Tosyn Bucknor, has announced the burial arrangements of the late broadcaster, who died on Monday the 19th of November.

The burial rites will commence with a night of service of songs on the 28 of November. Final internment however, will be on the 29th of November, with a funeral service on the same day.

Recall that the OAP died of complications from sickle cell anemia.

Though Tosyn Bucknor may have lived a short life, her days on earth were well spent and even in death, she continues to touch lives with her amazing story.

As one with the knowledge of the possibility to drop dead anytime, due to the sickle cell anemia, Tosyn led a happy life, filled with colours. In several ways, she has been able to extend these colours to others through the air waves and personally. No wonder, she was called the ‘Voice of Lagos’.

Though many may have known very little about her, her death brings to the fore, the embodiment of beauty that was Tosyn.

It however, seems like the OAP was well prepared for her own death. Sadly, her friends, fans, family and loved ones were not as prepared as she was.

Tosyn Bucknor says no one should cry for her.

In this poem written by her at a time when her heart still beats, she predicted the possibility of herself lying cold, with only her deeds to speak for her.

When the time comes, Tosyn Bucknor, says no one should cry for her. Shed tears for yourselves, she said as she was created to be a voice.

‘’I look into the future and see me cease,

I feel no fear, my face won’t even cease

The strength of a warrior isn’t marked by how long he stayed on the battle field but by how well he did. Tosyn Bucknor’s time, though short was well spent. The angels will rejoice at the welcome of this fighter.

Rest, therefore, for you have fought a good fight.

FG Mourns OAP, Tosyn Bucknor

Since the death of one of Nigeria’s foremost On Air Personalty, Tosyn Bucknor on Tuesday, there has been an out-pour of condolence messages.

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has also joined his voice to that of those that are mourning the OAP.

In a statement issues on Wednesday in Abuja, the minister condoles with the deceased family. Noting that the reaction of her death is a sign that she lived well, he says it should be a consolation to her family.

His statement below;

Since the news of Tosyn’s death broke, there has been a widespread expression of sympathy for her family and an outpouring of accolades for her. There is no better indication that she made her mark while on this side of the great divide.

“This should be a source of consolation for Tosyn’s family during their most difficult time. I pray that God will grant repose to the soul of the departed and also give strength and comfort to her family.”

Tosyn Bucknor: “this One is Hard Oh!” Funke Bucknor Mourns her Only Sister

Yesterday, news broke that famous Nigerian OAP, Tosyn Bucknor had passed on and this came as a shock to so many industry lovers.

Her only sister, Funke Bucknor however, later revealed that the OAP died due to complications from the sickle cell anemia. This was in a message which she shared on her Instagram page.

The dotting sister has now taken to the platform to pour her heart about the demise of her sister. Noting that the death hit her very hard, Funke revealed that she did not cry when her father passed on. This tells how much she is pained by her sister’s death.

Going forward, the OAP’s elder sister speaks of how much the world miss her sister. According to her, there are so many aspects of her life that will now be void.

Who will introduce me to new music now ( though your love for alternative music i didnt get oh lollll) 
Or even reach me new dancesteps? 

The real contradiction, my only sibling , my only aburo. You told me to live my best life jare and go to where the love is. We had great plans oh , some of which we made and discussed at this lunch an overdue one at that I didn’t shed one tear when my dad passed away but this one is hard oh ah it’s hard.

Tosyn was an OAP and MC before her death. Survived by her German husband, family and friends, she died at the age of 37.

It’s a painful time for the family of Nigerian beloved OAP, Tosyn Bucknor as she was loosed to the cold hands of death. So many people have sympathized with the family and expressed their great love for the radio presenter (here). Her sister, Funke Bucknor the CEO of events management “Sapphire Events as revealed the cause of her death. According to her, Tosyn died due to complications of sickle cell. In all this, Tosyn Bucknor’s husband is yet to say anything.

“my heart is heavy, but in all things we give thanks to God. My darling sister and besto Tosyn passed away last night due to complications from sickle cell. Love you.”

Today, Tuesday the 20th of November, Nigerians woke up to the sad news that OAP, Tosyn Bucknor has passed away.

New of her death broke after her German husband, Aurelien Boyer found her dead upon return from work yesterday. Though the cause of her death is yet unknown, it is confirmed that she was born with sickle cell anemia.

Before her death, Tosyn was an OAP at Top Radio, Inspirational FM and others. She also worked as an MC.

Since news of her death broke, Nigerians have been pouring in condolence messages on various social media platforms.

Popular Nigerian OAP, Tosyn Bucknor has been confirmed dead, after she was found lifeless in her home yesterday, the 19th of November.

According to reports, the On Air personality who got married three years ago, died by her husband yesterday, when he returned from work.

Tosyn Bucknor goes home!

Born with sickle cell anemia, Tosyn was married to a German, Aurelien Boyer. She was however, 37 years old at the time of her death.

Circumstances surrounding her death are not yet available as at press time. We’ll bring you more details as they unfold.
