It’s a long read but I hope it inspires you so please indulge.

I wasn’t excited about the new year, forget Instagram post. I was so anxious and the feeling of uncertainty scared the s**** out of me. Some old wounds opened and the sore was nasty, my mind was too weak. I honestly knew what was wrong, didn’t want to be strong, I prayed as usual but my special time with God I ignored…… I was in so much pain and wanted to feel numb. Angry that I couldn’t control my emotions and lost. It happens to the best of us but Then @artistry_by_tolani sent me a message from her church.

See eh, when people hurt you or when you hurt your self consistently, it’s not their fault or yours. We sometimes blind ourselves to the simple truth, the devil will always seek to steal your joy and use anyone who’s available to be an instrument including you! Being reminded of that made me jump,I was like kai waje you fall my hand. He went on to say that the Christ in you is freedom so anything that holds you to ransom is your choice,u can refuse to be in that state physically or emotionally and I jumped up again!Paused the video and said God forgive my foolishness. See fine girl like me that my smile radiates and my voice touches lives.

I have so much more inside me yet I’m walking the earth with no sparks by CHOICE like are you serious! Chai! I said a prayer silently ( lord remove this ugly cloak of heaviness and despair and cover my face with your veil of joy! So I want to encourage you sweethearts. Everyday wont be rosy but you choose to be radiant and laugh and fetch from the springs of peace and joy. You will end well this year strong! You will love and laugh and your aura will be joy contagious.

Every time someone hurts you at work, your love life, school ,whatever, wherever, just say “ekwensu I see your plan but in @theonlychigul voice “you are a waste” cause by choice I am a reflection of Christ and that is JoY! I was delivered yesterday so I can genuinely say Happy new year.
Watch this space! I and my people are made for signs and wonders. We haven’t started sweets! We WIN

Waje Says People Should Stop Asking her how it Feels to be a Single Mother

Nigerian music sensation, Waje, has survived being a single mother for the past 19 years and it seems like she has become weary of some questions that comes with single parenthood.

The mother of one has however, taken to her Intsastory to dissuade people from asking her questions concerning parenting.

Waje reminds people of her daughter’s age.

According to the singer, she does not remember how it feels to be a single mother anymore. This is because her daughter, Emerald, is grown. She is 19, not two, she said.

People should rather ask her about her music, she said. Better still, they should ask if she has eaten.

Singer, Waje Says she is Open to Cosmetic Surgery

Nigerian songbird, Waje, has opened up about some of her secret fantasies, in a recent interview with Sunday Scoop.

According to the sexy mother of one, she does not condemn people for what they choose to do with their bodies. To this effect, she states that she is open to going under the knife one day. She may want to get a slimmer figure, she said.

About her fantasies, the actress says that will be alienating herself from civilization. Though people often come to her for help, she is sad that she cannot always be of help, she said.

She however added that entertainers are blessed to be voices that people listen to.

Excerpts from Waje’s interview below;

I don’t know the favourite part of my body; but on a second thought, I can say my voice. (As regards cosmetic surgery), I have learnt never to say never! I am definitely open to it. Maybe, I would want to be slimmer. I’m not someone who condemns what other people do (with their bodies).

On her secret fantasy, she said:

My secret fantasy will be me living in the countryside away from civilisation and not having to worry about having so much money in my account. I also mentor youths and a lot of people come to me for help with school fees and other things; and it often breaks my heart that I’m not able to help as much as I would have wanted to.”

On how celebrities cam impact the society, Waje said:

Entertainers are blessed to be voices that people listen to. People follow us for different reasons and we affect culture. Basically, mirroring the things we want to see in society also helps people to see that there is an opportunity for the country to be peaceful and for citizens to see that there is a chance for a better Nigeria. Being examples of the kind of things we want to see is a very important way to build peace in society.

Waje is one of the few Nigerian entertainers that are blessed with curves in the right places.

Singer Waje opens up about battling depression

Waje talks about how she defeated depression

Recently there has been a lot of opening up about depression especially from our celebrities.  As a star, society demands a lot from you and in trying to answer those demands, somethings get affected. Waje in an interview with Pulse shared her depression story, how she battled with it and overcame it.

She said;

“I remember that time, that was the year we got signed as G** ambassadors so actually my career was doing really good. I just released my album, I was nominated in four categories in World Music Awards every year, money dey come. But I had anger issues, why because I just didn’t see myself the way I wanted to see myself. I saw myself through everybody’s eye. I would look at you and whatever you tell me about me is what I would accept”.

Going further:

“I remember one time I was so angry, I didn’t want to break my tv because na me pay for the tv, I broke my phone, can you imagine holding a phone and bending it like literally bending it, you can imagine the rage for being able to break a phone”.

“I have come to realise that you have to guard yourself, you have to understand what is going on around you. You are in the limelight, there is Waje and there is Ebele, Waje is now, we are having this interview, Ebele is when I enter my house, don’t come and tell me anything that is happening in social media and add to a headache that I already have.

The only thing a depressed person needs is your time and love, not your judgment, not telling the person that he has to pray and trust God. Trust me the person knew about that before they went into that state

I changed my environment, the people I hung out with a lot. I changed my friends, I started looking out for friends that would tell me things to boost my ego. The truth is that your friend is the person that would tell you the truth about you. What is the truth, the is that you beautiful, you are amazing, you are peculiar, you are unique, you are strong, you are bold, false, yes but that doesn’t take anything away from you”.
