Oprah Winfrey Loses Mother

Oprah Winfrey has lost her mother Vernita Lee, at the age of 83.

A Winfrey spokeswoman issued a statement saying Vernita died at her Milwaukee on 22nd November. Private funeral services have thus already been held. No other details have been provided.

Oprah’s mother gave birth to her while a teenager in Mississippi in 1954. They moved to Milwaukee when Winfrey was 6-years old.

Vernita is survived by her other daughter , Patricia Amanda, and four grandchildren.
