Jussie Smollett’s character on popular TV series Empire, will be removed. This will be done from the final two episodes of this season.

This announcement comes after he was charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report. Police went on to say that the actor faked a racist and homophobic attack in Chicago because he was unhappy with his salary and also wanted to promote his career.

Jussie’s character is being removed from the final two episodes of the season to avoid further disruption on set.

Empire actor Jussie Smollett arrested

Jussie Smollett was arrested after being charged with lying to the police. This is in reference to the claim he made about an attack he faced. He was beaten by two masked men who were shouting racist and homophobic slurs.

In January, the star was attacked and at the time told the police that two President Donald Trump supporters had struck him, put a noose around his neck and poured bleach over him.

Reports later emerged that Jussie had staged his own attack with the two ‘attackers’ well known to him.

Jussie Smollett accused of staging his attacks

Jussie Smollett has been a victim of homophobic attacks for the last few weeks.

One of the attacks was a hate letter sent to his offices and the other one was a physical attack near his apartment.

Following the attacks, two Nigerian brothers were arrested in regards to the physical attack, but have since been released.

Well, the two brothers spilled the beans and stated that Jussie actually staged both attacks.

It is being claimed that he is being written off Empire and he did this for attention and remorse

He has denied the claims though the police believe Jussie might have staged the attacks himself.

Take a look at the Interview he did after the attack

Jussie Smollett comes out strong after attack

Empire actor Jussie Smollett came out strong as he fought back tears on stage in South California where he had gone to perform. He could not let his attackers win.

“The most important thing I can say is ‘thank you so much, and I’m OK.”

This is the place he made his first public appearance after he reported in Chicago on Tuesday that two masked men had attacked him. They put a rope around his neck while using homophobic and racial slurs.

“I’m not fully healed yet, but I’m going to be, and I’m gonna stand strong with y’all.”

For Jussie, even though family and friends urged him to cancel the concert to allow him heal, he could not let the men win.

“I had to be here tonight, y’all. I couldn’t let those motherfuckers win. I’ll always stand for love. I will only stand for love.”

He gave a report of his injuries too. He was bruised but his ribs were not cracked. Then went straight to the doctor but was not hospitalized, and physicians in both Chicago and Los Angeles cleared him to play but told him to be careful.

No arrests have been made, and police have not found surveillance video of the attack, though they found footage of Jussie walking home with the rope around his neck.
