SAFTAS announces this year’s hosts

The 2019 South African Film and Television Awards have been announced. This year, the hosts will be radio personalities Pearl Modiadie and Thomas Msengana.

This is the first time the media personalities will be doing this as main hosts.

“We’re both so excited as well and can’t wait to host and celebrate the crème de la crème of SA film and television,” Pearl shared on Twitter.

Here is a full list of all the Saftas nominees

The South African Film and Television Awards nominees were announced recently.

Thapelo Mokoena, the 2018 Youth Achiever winner, was the host of the event.

This years theme for the Saftas is ‘Dare to Dream.’

The nominees are thus dreamers who were picked by over 200 industry experts from various provinces.

The ceremony will take place on the 2nd of March, and will be broadcast on SABC 2 at 1900hrs from Sun City, Superbowl.

Thursday night saw the ccelebration of yet another year of the South African Film and Television Awards(Saftas). This took place at Sun City, Bokone Bophirima.

Night one of the Saftas celebrates excellence within the industry’s technical craft.

The host for last night’s part was Phat Joe.

 

“It is important to celebrate each and every person who plays a crucial role in the journey of creating the magic we see on our screens daily. Today’s winners are an integral part of translating South Africa’s golden stories into entertaining and thought provoking conversation pieces. Congratulations to all the winners, we are extremely proud of the contribution you make to the South African film and television industry” NFVF CEO Ms. Zama Mkosi.

Night two, which will be on Saturday, will be broadcast live on SABC2 from 8pm.
