“So what if I love to chew?” Former KBC Presenter snaps back after being accused of being a devoted miraa lover before revealing how she enjoys chewing Khat

While many ladies spend a lot of money on makeup, shoes, clothes and food, this former TV presenter used to spend over 10,000 Kshs to finance her guilty pleasures, Miraa and Shisha.

“Veve was my mother, my father, my mini-god, my boyfriend and my sister; Veve was just everything to me!!!” Liz Irungu once said when describing her khat-chewing habit.

The habit was so bad that it caused problems in her dating life as she was always chewing the drug favored by makangas (touts).

After receiving some negative press in regards to her habit, she recently came out to defend her habit.

“So what I love to chew? *rolling my eyes* Big deal!!! Some of u drink mpka mnatembea na magoti and I don’t judge u!!! My friends and I have an informal ‘chamaa’ M.C.K (Mira Community of Kenya) we get together after office hours! Mostly weekends tunakata jaba yetu once in a while(not daily like before) na kupiga story zetu till morning! We love our little get-togethers! Occasionally we drive long distance and it is all in good social activities so hata sioni what is news here when it ain’t even illegal or a secret! Lol! So funny!” she wrote in response to a post by a certain blog.
