Betika gave away free money allowing Kenyans to really mark Madaraka Day!

Those who were lucky noted that they were awarded Ksh500 bonus for betting. This was after they sent a message dubbed “projectX500” between 9 AM and 1 PM, Testingmode500 between 1PM and 3PM and finally Award500 between 3PM and 5PM to Betika’s SMS number 29090.

“Those ones saying it’s not yet Madaraka Day! Have you tried sending SMS with the word ProjectX500 to 29090,” one bettor tweeted.

“Kumbe hii kitu ni real. Nawapenda sana betika (This free bonus from Betika is real. I love you Betika),” another added.

The company responded to the system glitch by wishing Kenyans a happy Madaraka Day.

“Leo nayo mmetuwahi na hiyo #BetikaHeist wadau. Hata kama hamkutwambia ni sawa tu, Happy Madaraka Day!

“You caught us off guard today. Anyways, allow us to wish you a Happy Madaraka Day,” a statement by the firm read.
