Shock as Jalango is arraigned in court for threatening to kill Joy Doreen Biira

Not Jalango the comedian but Jalango the murderer as it read on the charge sheet in court earlier on Friday, 10^th February.

The charge sheet was part of a case where Lawrence Joel Nyamo also known as Kepha Omanga Boundi pleaded not guilty for threatening to kill KTN news anchor Joy Doreen Biira.

It is alleged that on January 15^th, 2017 Joel sent Doreen a message threatening to kill her if Aaron Ochieng-a then Standard Group Editor was not freed from police custody. He was locked up in connection to the disappearance of Joy Biira’s car.

“Wewe Doreen Kama Aaron hatoki jela, believe me or not we will surely kill you in cold blood and any time-by Jalango” read the message.

Mr. Nyamo however pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Ksh 300,000. The case is set for the second hearing on 23^rd February.

Joy Doreen Biira takes over Edith Kimani’s job at a German TV station

Finally something good has happened to KTN’s Joy Doreen Biira after a series of misfortunes. The KTN journalist has taken over Edith Kimani’s job at Deutsche Welle (DW).

Sometimes in November last year, Joy Doreen Birra was arrested by Uganda police for what they termed as abetting terrorism.

A month later, his Mercedes Benz was stolen at the parking lot at Standard Group headquarters on Mombasa road.

The car was later recovered and surprisingly Biira’s colleague at KTN, Aaron Ochieng, had a hand in the theft of the German machine.

After all those setbacks, something good has finally happened to Biira; the KTN anchor has replaced Edith Kimani has the host of ‘eco@africa’ on DW TV. Kimani has been moved to Berlin as a fulltime anchor leaving a gap that was filled by Biira.

“On this week’s show, we introduce our amazing new host Joy Doreen Biira, who is taking over for Edith Kimani as she begins a new role as an anchor for DW News. Birra, a Ugandan broadcast journalist currently working with Kenya Television Network (KTN) in Nairobi, will bring you the same mix of pressing environmental issues and exciting solutions from Africa and Europe alongside our host in Nigeria, Nneota Egbe,” DW made the announcement on their website.

“#EcoAfrica show or Eco@Africa, which I’m happy and honoured to now be a part of – Tune in to #ktnnews tonight and every Saturday 2030hrs or 8:30pm and watch stories of people doing all they can to sustain our environment worldwide,” Joy Doreen Biira announced her new role on social media.

It seems Doreen Biira’s wows are far being over if the latest unfolding in court today are anything to go by.

Well as you are all aware, there is a pending matter in court involving KTN News editor Aaron Ochieng’ who is suspected to have stolen her car.

A few weeks ago, the news anchor found her car keys missing on the desk and that’s when she ran to the parking lot of Standard’s Group headquarters to find her car missing- a Mercedez E220.

She reported the matter to Industrial police station and that’s when investigations commenced where they got to be successful and the car was recovered in Kisumu with new number plates.

Further investigations led to Ochieng being the suspect and he was arrested alongside two guards who were on duty at the time. Now in an interesting twist of events, Ochieng has denied the claims arguing he couldn’t have done it claiming that they were actually lovers. He was later released on a cash bail of Ksh 300,000.

Now if you must know, Doreen is married- actually she did a very grand wedding in Uganda before she got arrested and such revelations are likely to sprout out even more drama and complications.

Joy Doreen Biira offers handsome reward for information leading to recovery of her lost Mercedes Benz

A week has since elapsed since the KTN anchor lost her posh Mercedes Benz which had been parked at her workplace.

Joy Doreen Biira’s car, silver Mercedes Benz E220 with registration number KBY 831K, was stolen from the car park of Standard Group headquarters along Mombasa Road in Nairobi on December 22^nd at around 7:40pm.

Biira’s colleague, Mohammed Ali, sounded the alarm after the Mercedes went missing; he urged Kenyans to assist them track the car.

A week after her car disappeared, Joy Doreen Biira decided to offer Kenyans incentive as she gets desperate to recover her Mercedes.

The KTN anchor put a notice on a local daily offering handsome reward to anyone who will offer information leading to recovery of her lost Mercedes Benz E220.
