This is how the first lady margaret Kenyatta chose to spend her Valentines…Uhuru is surely a lucky man

“Someone who “is proud of herself. Respects herself and others. … She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs and that of others” simply sums a good woman.

And it looks like Uhuru got that and so much more in his lovely wife Margaret. While you expect many wives and spouses of prominent people to be bundled up in expensive suites and holiday destinations during Valentines, Margaret Kenyatta decided to do the exact opposite.

She decided to kick start her valentines early by donating a fully kitted Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic for physically challenged children at the African Inland church Cure International Orthopedic hospital, Kijabe Kiambu County . Now how sweet is that?

Even though the Beyond Zero half Marathon was cancelled, she is still determined to continue her work continues.

And not only that, she also presented early Valentine flowers to hundreds of disabled children including those undergoing treatment at the facility.

“And as we present each one of you with a valentine flower, I want every one of you to always remember, that you are gifted, you are important, and you mean so much to the world”, she told the children.

Now if she can carry out such deeds to such children, what about her own? And most importantly her man?

This is why the First lady Margaret Kenyatta is very angry with Kenyans….look at what they made her do

Margret Kenyatta is very angry and I mean very angry with Kenyans and this is after they made her cancel the much awaited Beyond Zero marathon.

A couple of weeks back she was very excited about the initiative which is in its fourth year running. This year she was looking forward to running yet another marathon – a Gratitude Marathon which was to thank ordinary Kenyans, workers in the health sector, civil society, policy makers, the business community and international donors who have given Beyond Zero the inspiration and impetus it has needed to keep going.

Kenyans on the other hand were having none of it. They simply didn’t understand how the First Lady intended to have a marathon while there was an existing doctor’s strike which has been going on for weeks with no signs of coming to an end. This has led to many Kenyans dying and instead of concentrating on the marathon; Kenyans felt the first lady should have focused on that instead.

As it is with anything online, Kenyans went ham on her turning the whole thing into a political scandal something which has led to her cancelling the marathon this year. This is her full statement:

Four years I ago, I asked Kenyans to join me on a journey: a marathon to end maternal and child mortality across the country.

Over the last four years, we have worked together—we have run together bonded by our shared conviction that no mother should die while giving life and that every child should live to see their 5th birthday.

We have done more together than I imagined possible. We have run marathons and raised enough money to purchase 47 fully equipped mobile clinics delivered to every single County in Kenya.

Throughout the last four years, our partners—from ordinary Kenyans, to workers in the health sector, to civil society, to policy makers, to the business community and international donors—have given Beyond Zero the inspiration and impetus it has needed to keep going.

This year, I was looking forward to running yet another marathon – a Gratitude Marathon.

I was preparing to celebrate with Kenyans to say thank you for running with me and for supporting Beyond Zero. You have all made a huge difference to the lives of thousands of women, men and children, in our great nation.

My ultimate purpose was to ensure that no mother or child lost their lives unnecessarily and I believe that this is something which should be owned by all of us.

However, I have never been willing to politicize this agenda. As a consequence I feel it necessary to cancel the First Lady’s Half Marathon this year.

I remain committed to and will not deviate from my ultimate goal, which is the betterment of maternal healthcare in this country, and, to build the Beyond Zero Referral Hospital.

I want to reassure all Kenyans that this is a commitment that will remain with me throughout my life.

This is what first lady Margaret Kenyatta revealed about CS Amina Mohammed that will drive you wild with envy

If you thought Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed had it all, think again…there is more to her life than you think.

Actually she might just have it all as it was revealed by the first lady recently. She was speaking at some luncheon in a Nairobi hotel and she had nothing but sweet words for the CS.

“You have made Kenya proud. Keep flying the Kenyan flag high. We know you are going higher. We wish you the very best”, said the First Lady where various speakers including two cabinet secretaries described their colleague as a smart, intelligent and bold.

And she did not end it there. She also revealed that Amina Mohammed is not only good at her work but also manages to maintain a very healthy family life; bet you never expected that.

“Even as she traveled the world working incessantly to broker bilateral agreements and preserve peace, I have seen her simultaneously prioritise her family; her children and their wellbeing, their milestones, their lives. She has modelled these virtues while giving grace to those who earnestly try to do the same.” she said.

Amina Mohammed is in the running for the AUC chairperson post will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the 28th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government slated for January 30-31.

Margaret Kenyatta responds to Millie Odhiambo after she insulted her husband

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo hurled unpalatable words to President Uhuru Kenyatta on December 20th. The president’s wife has since responded.

Mbita MP called Uhuru a stupid man claiming the president was using the police to harass opposition MPs as they tried to access parliament.

Baba Ngina hit back at his critics on Tuesday evening while presiding over the historic lighting of KICC to usher in the Christmas festivities.

And yesterday, Wednesday December 21st, it was Margaret Kenyatta’s turn to respond to Millie Odhiambo.

The First Lady however didn’t respond with insults but rather wished the Mbita MP well ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Mrs. Kenyatta sent Millie Odhiambo a Christmas card with a message of peace and reconciliation;

“Christmas is here again – a time to remember and apply our shared values of compassion, sharing and communism. We share this holiday with all people of all persuasions because what we celebrate are cherished universal human impulses.Often, what we see as our differences are only expressions of problems that can be resolved through a commitment to good will, love, peace and unity. Let the holidays bring us closer to each other so that we can lighten our burdens and brighten our journey. To you, your family and everyone you love, Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year,” reads the message on the Christmas card to Hon. Millie Odhiambo.

The card was signed by both the president and his wife; it also had their pictures on it. uhuru-kenyatta-christmas-card-to-millie-odhiambo
