Thousands of People Turn up for the Kabaka’s Run 2018

Not even the heavy rains could stop the people of Uganda from celebrating the birthday of the Kabaka, Ronald Mwenda Muteebi. He was born in April 1955, and took over the Buganda throne on July 31, 1993. The Kabaka’s run is an annual event held in the city to celebrate with the king. This year, 2018, it attracted thousands of people from all classes. The entrepreneurs, politicians, comedians, musicians, socialites, name it all. There were also all classes from the young and the old. This has broken the record as the highest attendance in a race. The theme was to raise money for people suffering from Sickle Cell disease.

Thousands of excited people enjoying the show

It all started as early as 4am in the morning, when people made their way to Lubiri, Mengo. Airtel Uganda sponsored the event, and was around to give out as many kits as possible to all those who were interested.
