First Daughter, Natasha, Premieres Movie about her Father; “27 Guns”

The First Family of Uganda definitely has more than beauty. They have talent. Natasha, one of the daughters of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, over the weekend launched her long awaited movie, 27 guns, at the World Premiere.

If you have just been born a few years ago, here is an opportunity to watch how the president of Uganda got into power. The movie shares the experience, where 27 young soldiers, managed to get 27 guns to over throw the Iddi Amin regime. These young men were led by Yoweri Museveni in the 1980s. We can now watch the story of Museveni in a movie, directed by none other than his daughter Natasha. One of his daughters, also plays Mrs. Museveni in this movie.

The event was attended by many important people, including Andrew Mwenda and Bebe Cool, and hosted by uncle Mitch, and our very own Malaika Nyanzi. Various members of the First Family were also present.

 

Parliament closes for First Daughter to shoot Museveni liberation Film

The Parliament and selected roads in the city will be closed to allow First Daughter, Natasha Museveni to film 27 Guns movie. In a press statement, the Police has called for calm as some of the scenes will include use of simulated gun sounds.

“We have granted permission to Isaiah 60 Productions a local film production company based in Kampala to shoot a film within some designated areas and roads around Kampala City. These areas include:, Parliamentary Avenue, Said Barre Road, King George II Road, Kimathi Avenue, Sir Apollo Kagwa Road’, the statement read in part.

According to the statement, the shoot will take three days.

“This will take place on the 9th,10th and 11th March 2018 and shall comprise of large movements of people,actors in military attire,simulated gun sounds as film crew and actors shoot the film. Roads around the stipulated areas shall be sealed off by our traffic officers who will be guiding road users about the alternative routes”, the statement read.

27 Guns tells the story of the bush war struggle that ushered President Museveni to power.
