Dave Dash reveals how the Bible helped him get of Drugs

Images of a totally nude former NTV Uganda and Radio City presenter Dave Dash running on the streets went viral on social media sometime last year. To many, it was a fun-filled day as they shared and joked about the nude images. But to Dave, it was a tough moment that would later lead to some sort of rebirth.

And months later, Dave now a born-again Christian, was last Friday hosted at the Power, Sex and Money’ gathering at Watoto Church in Kampala and he made quite some shocking revelations. Dave revealed that he was introduced to cocaine by a certain celebrity.

Dave said drugs were expensive, so he decided to become a dealer to stay in constant supply.  He said he strategically sold a gram of cocaine a bit cheaper than all other suppliers and he recruited many distributors including women. Business was booming, but the addiction was also growing faster every other day!

Dave revealed that he helped himself by accepting that he was an addict and needed help. “I know a lot of people doing drugs and have no friend to run to. I couldn’t trust anyone, but I knew I had to turn to God; but I did not know which church could accept somebody like me,” he said.

Dave said that when he was taken to rehab, he kept only his bible closer. He said the bible helped him overcome the addiction much easier! Dave urged the congregation and church leaders to accept substance users and help them through recovery.

Dave Dash starts online Radio show to raise awareness on drugs

After his naked mile stint, Dave Dash has been making big steps since coming from rehab at butabika hospital .

Just after launching a media company, Brain Hub, he has also announced the birth of an online radio station that he co-owns with his friend, Hannz. They named their station, I am Radio.
Dave tells us that the station will be run by about five on-air presenters. what is important is that they know the values we stand for.

“We are structuring programs but we would like to have 4 to 5 presenters who know the values of the station,” he says. The station, he says, is mostly dedicated toward youth empowerment.

“We are going to be talking about addiction and awareness which is known but entertaining at the same time.”

We wish Dave dash the very best in this endeavor.

“I was a drug lord” Dave Dash speaks out on his addiction

Dave dash who moths ago was caught on camera running Naked on the streets has finally spoken out on the fateful day. Here is his interview on by Sqoop.co.ug

What really happened that day?
Three days earlier, I was going through an emotional situation. I felt as though the entire world had abandoned me; my wife had left with my son, our family land was sold off by people I trusted so much and thinking about my son being caught up in the middle of it broke me down. It was my fault. I broke down and thought that if I ran about naked, nobody would mind.

So were you high that day?
No. I was off weed for a day and the weed I was using is one of the strongest and I had used it for four months. I would smoke it every morning, afternoon and evening. That day, all I wanted was at least the scent of mango because the weed smells like mango, but I did not have access.

You could have undressed from your house. Did you have to run to the street?
I used to jog from Bunga pump to Kampala University twice a day, as I smoked but this time I did not have the weed so I undressed, took the same run, showered in the lake and was home by 9.45am. When I got home, I started receiving calls, and texts from people expressing concern.

Was that gesture meant to test how much people cared for you?
No. This was my break down. It was all about me, my wrongs haunting me. I had destroyed families including mine. I was the pope of darkness who knew everyone’s dark point and to wash away all those things, rehab was the only place for me to go. It was a personal decision.

Does this mean you took yourself to rehab?
Yes I did. No one told me or forced me to go there.

What is the main reason that took you to rehab?
I have a family to look after and I wanted to tell people about the dangers of drugs. We actually have an app that can help teach people about the beauty of being sober. I also went to rehab to be cleansed.

Which rehab did you go to?
I was in Butabika. It was an amazing experience. It made me reconnect with myself.

What really happens in Butabika or in rehab?
In there, no one judges you because everyone is mad. Mad in different aspects; some are stressed, others just gave up while others are there because of excessive drinking. It is a clean place for anyone who wants to reconnect with themselves and truth be told, everyone at some point may want to check into Butabika.

BREAKING NEWS. Dave Dash runs mad.

Once again there is shocking news reaching us from our various sources.Dave Dash, real names, Lukwago Davis, the ex-NTV and Radio city presenter has apparently run mad. According to Howwe Biz, the former presenter was seen on the streets of the city center, walking naked.

At the end of last year, it was rumored that the presenter had been given a 2 weeks suspension from Radio city, reason being an addiction to drugs.Apparently, during this period, he was also informed that his services were no longer required.

Today, we got to know that Dave Dash could have been heavily depressed as his dutch girlfriend denied him access to his son, Zion. This could have been one of the reasons that led the presenter to lose his wires. However, other sources also say that we should not ignore the fact that this TV host has been big on drug and alcohol abuse.

He may not be mad, but the effect of drug abuse that comes along with frequent hallucinations and imaginations could have led the TV host to undress and take a walk outdoors.Let us not leave him in these trying times.

Let us pray that he gets better soon and receives the right medication and rehabilitation.
