Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Kizza Besigye was this weekend, chased out of a university function. There was a Busitema Rotaract Dinner at Mbale Resort, and they decided to invite Besigye to it. They wanted him to share his knowledge on ethical issues, in a broader aspect. To his dismay the police to approached the organizers, and asked them to stop the function.
BESIGYE GIVES HIS SPEECH
Apparently, the reason that was given was that the Rotaractors did not inform the police about their intention to invite the opposition leader. Dr. Besigye, was forced to leave, so that the 2nd Anniversary dinner could continue. He left half way, but took a moment to give his speech to the people.He said;
“I am sure when you invited me, you knew you were taking a risk. Unfortunately that risk has come to pass. I have been told there are gentlemen down here who have ordered that I must leave. That is why I have been requested by the organizers to give my speech now and leave. So I will just do that and leave because I am your guest” ” In other circumstances, I am sure, you know I would act differently.”
Dr. Kizza Besigye has stood against the current president and lost to him more than twice. He is however still very aggressive in this fight for freedom. He has a vision to lead Uganda to a better place, and has been arrested very many times, trying to fulfil this promise.
