“Miss Uganda Beauty pageant is a big joke” – former contestant

Having returned after a year hiatus,  the Miss Uganda beauty pageant has not had a warm welcome.

It has been labelled a joke by one of its former contestants, Engrid Ritah Wanyana.

The former Miss Uganda runners-up has blasted the organizers of the beauty pageant through her social media platforms.

She went on to have a heated argument with former Miss Uganda and 2018 judge, Stella Nantumbwe alias Ellah.

Ellah, in turn, blasted Egrid for allegedly taking the whole matter personally because she did not win something that prompted Engrid to emphasize her statement of the pageant being a joke.

This comes days after the pageant judges landed in the hot soup for allegedly bullying Miss Uganda contestants 2018/2019.

Do Miss Uganda Organizers take Back Winners Prize Cars?

Brenda Nanyonjo, the C.E.O of the Miss Uganda pageant that returns this year after missing out last year refuted claims that suggested that the organizers of the beauty pageant always took back their grand prize of a car which was meant for the winner.

According to the news in corridors, rumors had it that the organizers of event would always take back their car and start to cruise in it instead of the crowned personnel leaving her to hustle for taxis and boda bodas.

” The issue of we the organizers of removing the grand prize of a car from the beauty winner is absolutely not true at all”,

Nanyonjo begun.

“Those are just people who just come up with their own storylines in bad faith to damage and destroy our brand. You can go and ask Leah Kagasa and Kalangunka if they don’t have their cars or even any of the other winners and confirm”,

However, she noted that this years finalist will be a bit less like 16 rather than the usual 23 who have been always competing for the top crown.

The Miss Uganda event will be held at Kampala Serena Hotel on August 10th , and eventually Miss Leah Kasaga will be replaced after serving as Miss Uganda from 2016-18 .

The event is co-hosted by Kezzi Entertainment and Talent Africa with tables going for Shs 3M and individuals at Shs 100k.
