Throwback Thursday; Songs of your childhood

Its throwback Thursday and we are looking back at the Ugandan songs that grew us. Where were you?

Kipepeo by Jose Chameleone

This song is a true classic many of us did our ‘creative dances’ in primary school to this one.

Eno mic by Ziggy Dee

This song got many of us beaten for singing it. Nonetheless we gyrated and still sang aloud.

Omwana Wabandi by Bobi Wine

None other than the good old days of the honorable himself. This song reintroduced the era of Calypso to the Ugandan music scene. Never forget.

Nabikoowa by Juliana Kanyomozi

Nothing beats this throwback from the youthful queen of Ugandan Music. Nabikoowa was an anthem for broken hearts countrywide so why not bring it back.

All i wanna know by klear kut feat Julianna

You can not claim to know hip hop in Uganda if you don’t know this song by klear kut. This was an anthem for the ‘rich kids’ in kabojja and Aga khan where Navio went to school and also features a young  ‘the mith’ and Shanice Kacungira as a video vixen. Its one to watch.

How old were you then?

Celebrities and Their Mothers

When you bring up a child, and they turn out to be a National, or even International sensation, then you must be a strong and proud woman. Today must may not be mothers day, but as the saying goes, “Any day is mothers day” Let us see the women who have given birth to all this talent.

  1. Navio. Maggie Kigozi is a strong woman, whom we all know. She is an inspiration to many, a massive achiever, and a representation of a role model. Apart from all the above, she is a mother to top HipHop rapper Navio.

  2. Juliana Kanyomozi: We would all want to see where this great voice came from. This woman gave her daughter beauty, and the ability to be one of the  greatest songbirds ever unearthed in the whole of the country. You gave birth a strong woman who appreciates and loves herself.

    3. Pallaso. This man has the right words to tell the women. He is from the Mayanja family with very talented boys. This lady not only gave birth to one talent but three one who has been very successful in the music industry of Uganda today.

    4. Anita Fabiola: People in the entire country have praised Fabiola’s curves and overall beauty. They longed to see the woman who was behind this creation.  Finally, Anita released photos of her mother, and trust me, she is even more beautiful.

    The two beauties

    5. Sheila Gashumba: This is a daddy’s girl. She calls her father her role model, and has in most cases been seen always beside him. Her parents split, but this young talent still loves her mother more than anything. She first showed us photos of her on her graduation day, and they looked so lovely together. The lady even looks more like her older sister.
