Ugandans who love their bottle most especially the Uganda Waragi, now have a reason to feel at home even when they are far away from home.

Earlier this week during the Uganda-UK Business Forum organized by The High Commission of the Republic of Uganda in London in conjunction with Uganda’s Honorary Consul to Leicester and the Midlands, Uganda Waragi was launched and introduced to the UK market.

Uganda High Commissioner to the UK, His Excellency Ambassador Julius Moto during the launch said, Uganda Waragi has been duly registered in the UK by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs and will be officially available in the UK market.

“We are not going to sell crude oil. We are going to sell finished products because we believe that selling raw materials is throwing away your money,” H.E Amb. Julius Moto said in support of the export of Uganda Waragi to the UK.

“Capt. Paul Okidi the founder of AFLyU Ltd, the Sole distributor of Uganda Waragi in the UK said that the launch of Uganda Waragi has been in production for the last 72 years but has never been imported officially into the United Kingdom. He went on and urged all Ugandans in the UK and friends of Uganda to support the country.

Douglas Lwanga hosted Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel Manizo in an exclusive interview as they delved into various issues from life after Radio’s death, Angel Music, Bryan White and the podium, the fans Chagga to Mowzey Radio’s brother, Frank Ssekibogo. Here are some excerpts we picked.

A lot has been happening, the fans, the expectation from people…

What people should know that I loved Radio the most. I lost my brother. They should let me be.

Many people expected you to take a rest after Radio’s death…

We had planned to take a vacation off but still I realised that people will still continue to haunt me. I wanted to rest. Do you know what kind of messages I receive from people? I decided to stay back and do my music.

The fans have have had their expectations and many times they seem not so happy…

Once one is your fan, they are not expected to insulted you. Those who insult me are not my fans. They are not fans of Radio and Weasel. Those who insult me are happy that Radio passed away. Most of them are happy.They thought I was done and dusted.

Tell us about Angel Music. What was the essence of Radio starting Angel Music?

Angel Music was like Radio’s platform for writing songs for other artistes. He maintained royalties over the songs.

Then came Bryan White. The fans had a problem when you carried a sack!

I had no problem carrying a sack because we were helping people. Even foreign artistes have done such charitable works.

After the video of Bryan White calling you in a manner the fans deemed disrespectful, you cut ties. Why did you rejoin?

He apologized. We reconciled. We have reconciled with many people including Jose Chameleone.

The fans did not understand that…

A fan is a diehard. I fan true fan will support you  no matter what. A fan does not complain. Those who are insulting, complaining are not fans.

Some people say the language you are using is too harsh.

I lost my brother. People should forgive me if I am too harsh. There are putting too much pressure on men yet I’m grieving. I lost my brother AK 47. Within a short time, I have lost another.May be they also want me dead.

On firing Chagga…

I have never fired Chagga. Let me tell you something. I have no contracts with anyone. Chagga introduced me to the game. He taught me. I have no contracts with Chagga or Washington. We are brothers. We work on friendly basis.

On Radio’s brother Frank Ssekibogo and the car-smashing incident

I travelled over this earth with Radio, Through brokenness and wealth, we stood together. My lawyers had advised me not to talk about this. However, for the sake of the fans, let me put this clear. Radio worked for his children not his brother. I am the only left to fight for Radio’s children. I’m ready to die for them. Some of them have been sending me threats but if I was dead, I know, Radio would not allow anyone take my children’s property. Can you imagine after Radio died, they came and carried away his TV, fridge…I was asking myself where they expect Radio’s children to watch cartoons… I never wanted to talk about this.

There are people who have come up singing or looking  like Radio…

First of all, Radio’s legacy will never die. When I was starting out, Chameleone told me I sound like him till I discovered myself. Thank you for the love but first discover yourself.

What is the future of Radio and Weasel?

I always feel Radio is watching over me. There is so much in store.

On the new song Good Over Evil

This is a song straight from the heart. When we were recording, it was the producer who reminded me that the verses were done.

Comedy ‘ninja’ Anne Kansiime ‘has fallen in things’ once again! We can reliably confirm that Kansiime is set to perform in over 10 states in the USA starting this July.

Kansiime will be the headliner of a series of comedy shows dubbed ‘The African comedy tour.’ Kansiime will lead a group of both celebrated and upcoming comedians from Kenya and other parts of Africa.

Kansiime and group are set to kick off their tour with a show at Lisner auditorium at George Washington University on July 29. The African queen of comedy will then hold subsequent shows at Rialto Center for Art at George State University on August 4, at Northdrop auditorium Carlson ‘ Family Stage’ at University of Minnesota on August 11, and at Berklee Performing Center on August 18. Kansiime will also perform at Mershon Auditorium, at Ohio State University and Power Center performing art, at University of Michigan on August 25 and September 1 respectively.

Kansiime will be traveling with her right hand woman comedian Cotilda Inapo on this tour. All the best Anne!

Singer Alex Bagonza alias Apass kicked off the year with a dancehall banger “Didadada” which is a club anthem.

He has now shot a new video titled “Mummy” directed by Sasha Vybz.

According to A Pass this video will drop next week  and will be followed by “Orusso” another melodic love song.

Former TV and radio presenter, Dave Dash is preparing to walk down the aisle with a mzungu woman whose identity is yet to be revealed.

Dave’s wedding is scheduled for September this year according to sources. He was recently in Zimbabwe for a vacation and it is said that he proposed to her.

Dave was previously dating a mzungu and together they are blessed with a child.

The two broke up due to Dave’s drug problem which later led him to a rehab.

Dave revealed in one of his interviews that a friend had snatched his woman from him.

He must be smiling now after getting a new catch.

Self-proclaimed king of Dancehall Cinderalla Sanyu alias Cindy is full of surprises and we all love what she brings to the table. Let it be her sense of fashion or sentimentally charged dancing routines, the former girl group Blu 3 act has the mileage of a proven entertainer.    Well, She’s` at it again after promising to run the city at the first ever Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run slated for June 9.

Dressed in the official run kit while rhyming to her 2016 club banger, `Run this city’, she calls on revelers to make the night run or be nowhere else on the day, in a homemade video promo. Cindy`s works entail a log of popular tunes like `Ayokyayokya’, `One by one’,` Ndimukodo’, `Mbikooye, `One and only’ , `Selecta’ and the currently trending `Push back’ on which she features Dj Rocky, Ketchup and Peter Miles.

Her presence will give dancehall lovers a double attraction with Beenie Gunter, another young artist who has taken the local airwaves like a storm, the last 18 months all so with his own redefined style of the genre. Since it’s now a public secret know that Cindy loves surprises, Torino bar and restaurant is the place next Saturday and who knows whether she`ll take part in the 2km run?

Other artists in line to perform at the inaugural event themed `Light the night’ are Toniks, Fik Fameica nevertheless  DJ Ciza, DJ MaryJo and DJ Simples will churn the turn tables like no one has ever heard before. Tickets go for Shs 30,000.

In this country, you never know whose nud3s will leak next. While we were getting worried about kidnaps and surprised that many have now resorted to kidnapping themselves, Judith Heard’s nud3s and s3xtape, out of the blue, kidnapped our attention!

The model and public figure is no stranger to her waking up to her nud3s in public domain. It is no wonder that she is handling the whole situation without throwing tantrums. See? This is why employers demand for atleast three years working experience from fresh graduates! Just kidding.

Back to our story, Judith Heard had been waxing lyrical since the nud3s leaked. Her social media pages are decorated with all that glamour, fine writing and of course, refined motivational talk like a city babe’s rejuvenated wisdom after she’s been dumped. Fans, singers and players in the music industry were left dumbfounded when singer Qute Kaye survived lynching after he was caught stealing car headlights. However, the incident seems to have turned into a blessing in disguise for the fallen singer as several attempts are flowing in to salvage his once glorious music career.

Among the various acts of goodwill, Geoffrey Kayemba has taken over as the  the singer’s acting manager. Kayemba also happens to be Rema Namakula and Chris Evans’ manager. We spoke to him about his new artiste, Qute Kaye.

How did Qute Kaye end up stealing?

Qute Kaye had become excessively broke and resorted to theft because he had no option.

Where is he now?

He is now at his home in Lungujja where he stays with his family and he is safe under our care and surveillance.

Since he had run broke, how was he able to pay bills like rent ? Was someone paying for him rent?

No one was paying his rent. He used to hustle and pay his rent by himself but we now have better plans for him as we are yet to see how to help him out may be get him a house.

Pastor Kayanja said that amongst the things he gave him was a car. What type of car was it and does he still have it?

He still has the car but it broke down and he was required to pay Shs1.5m for its repair which he could not afford. So the car is still in the garage. It was a Prado TX. But we shall see what to do about it and he gets it back on the road.

What plans do you have for him?

We have quite a lot of plans for him as we are planning on taking him into a musical rehabilitation because it is the best rehabilitation for him. Starting this very week, he is expected to release three songs. On Monday he is set to record his first song at Audio one studio with Paddy man and on Tuesday he will record another with producer Crouch.

Is he going to sing gospel now or his old style?

No, he is not going to sing gospel. He will sing his old style because that’s what his fans know him for.

Are you going to manage him and have you signed him under your management?

I should say yes, am his acting manager now but I have not yet signed him. We have to first talk and set conditions before I can sign him.

Should we expect a concert soon?

No, we cannot talk about staging a concert now even before we resurrect his musical career. Do not expect a concert soon.

How are you going to clean up his mess before public?

I think him coming out to admit that he really stole and even apologized to the public was enough to clean the mess.

What are your last words to Kaye’s fans, what should they expect?

They should wait and see their beloved Qute Kaye rise again. They should expect new good music from him. Generally expect a big comeback from Qute Kaye.

Following last week’s arrest of singer Qute Kaye after he survived lynching in Busega, Lungujja to find out how he had been faring before the shocking incident.

Qute Kaye stays in Lungujja at a place called ‘Community’ which is a few kilometers from the Lungujja trading centre. We visited the residential area on Monday, May 28.

We were welcomed to a serene environment with a few people moving around.  When we asked for directions, only a few people managed to direct us to his door. Quite surprisingly, most of them had no idea who he was.  However, we were finally led to a fence with a brown gate which had fairly constructed two-roomed residential houses, one of which Qute Kaye rents.

Neighbours surprised he was once a big star

In a conversation with his neighbours, we were informed that Kaye had only moved in about two months ago and that perhaps was the reason most of the residents had no idea who he was.  Despite his social status, most the people were not aware that he was once a huge star. They only got the shock while watching TV!  According to the residents of the area, Kaye is always seen moving around alone and a few times with his girlfriend. They further revealed that he wore hoodies all the time, most times appearing shabby which made them suspicious of his character.

Lives with pregnant Rwandese girlfriend

Kaye stays with his pregnant Rwandan girlfriend commonly known as Pretty Glo in a double-roomed rental for which he pays Shs300,000 per month. According to sources close to the couple, Kaye’s Rwandan girlfriend persuaded him to sell his car and a number of clothes that had been given to him by Pastor Kayanja after he got saved. They reportedly needed the money to make ends meet. However, the money raised was not sufficient. Kaye’s pregnant girlfriend is being taken care of by her mother who reportedly checks on them frequently and also pays her antenatal bills.

A few metres from the home, there are a few grocery shops from where we were was informed he buys necessities and a mobile money shop where he sometimes does his transactions. At the shop, a woman around her 40s stated that Kaye buys things like bread, sugar, and soap among other necessities and always pays the bill though sometimes he takes them on a credit.

Another lady who works at the mobile money claims that she is a friend to Kaye and his girlfriend and she also claims that the two carry out their mobile money transactions from there and sometimes  when probably broke, they  request  ‘soft  loans’ of as little as of Shs5000. She stated that Kaye is a calm person and he pays back his loans though they do not know his job as he does not do anything around but is only always seen  taking a boda boda to Bakuli.

At the boda boda stage, I was informed by the boda boda men that  they did not know Qute Kaye’s social status and only looked at him as a normal resident of their area until he was caught and seen on television.  They  added that Kaye always boards their boda bodas to Bakuli at a fee of Shs3000 though sometimes he bargains to Shs2000 for the journey. At Bakuli he reportedly goes to an unknown place between Total petrol station and Delight stage. They too told me that Kaye does not do business within his residential area or the trading centre but always spends his time in Bakuli where he goes on a daily basis and they think this is where he does his business.

His neighbours however said they had never set eye on him since last week’s incident, but his wife is still at their home.

Rapper Feffe Bussi has teamed up with self-proclaimed star Gyal, Spice Diana to shoot the video of their new collaboration “Sente zakameeza”.

The song talks about daily upkeep money that men are supposed to leave at home before going to work.

In the video, Feffe Bussi refuses to provide money at home while Spice Diana demands for it.
