Are wedding bells in order for Hamisa and Diamond Platnumz?

There’s one thing about Diamond Platnumz, every time a friend or relative walks down the aisle, it gets him unsettled. It happened during the Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) record’s official DJ Romy Jones (real name Romeo Abdul Jones) wedding where Diamond and his then lover, Zari were the best man and maid of honor respectively.

During the speeches, it was said that in a week’s time Diamond Platnumz and Zari will be making similar announcements, they never did, they instead went to the UK where they explored each other to the fullest.

Just recently, Ali Saleh Kiba, better known by his stage name Ali Kiba who by the way is not on very good terms with Platnumz held his wedding in Tanzania attracting all the bigwigs there, could it be the reason he is compelled to officiate things, not so sure, but what we are sure about is that he is all set to marry Hamisa for sure.

Over the weekend, Diamond Platnumz and Hamisa in the company of their very close friends were on a boat cruise dancing and winning to love ballads, mostly from Mbosso and Diamond Platnumz himself, it was a cozy moment for the two.

Hamisa who looked very excited throughout the cruise shared a cruise pic captioned as; “Own World..loving every bit, Happiness looks good on me.”

Platnumz on the other hand shared an emoji of a man and woman with two diamond rings captioned as; ‘Alele’ which is Wasafi Records Mbosso latest love song.

Weasel advised to marry after he has another child

Podium star, Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel Manizo was on Sunday having his latest child, he fathered with a one Audrey baptized at St. Angel Church in Sseguku. Weasel’s mom and dad were present and in his speech, Weasel’s dad, Gerald Mayanja advised the ‘Thirty Two’ singer that the next time they are holding such functions should be his wedding.

Weasel had actually gone a step ahead when he visited the parents of his other baby mama Samira Tumi in Jinja, but things didn’t work out when she decided to opt out of the relationship.

A few days back, Weasel shared this beautiful daughter of his on IG for his fans captioned as; “Greetings from Sukaali #Goodoverevil” And of course, comments followed;

“OMG I should start preparing for my son so that he gets there and I become her mother-in-law so help me God.”

“She is so cute and beautiful and your ‘photocopy’, she is so adorable.”

“Weasel is still having more infants?”

The artist whose love for children is unquestionable could not let this pass, he promptly responded to this one; “How many is enough?”

This is coming at the time when another artist, Mathias Walukagga was in the news for neglecting a child he fathered with his former maid, but he later owned up and saved from being forced to carry out a DNA test to ascertain who the biological father was.

Chameleone to bring in Shaba Ranks for his concert

After letting Sheebah have November 30 to herself, Chameleone says he is now in talks with legendary Jamaican singer, Shaba Ranks, to grace his concert. In an exclusive interview with the Mateeka singer at Blankets and Wines last Sunday, Chameleone revealed his concert will be dubbed “Legend Again!”

The self-proclaimed  legend further revealed he withdrew from November 30 not because he was afraid of competition from Sheebah but because he feels the latter needs a chance to do more concerts than he has. “I have been there, done concerts world over and across Uganda.

“This will only be Sheebah’s second big concert, so I feel she needs the date more than I do. Hers is to probably introduce a new album whilst mine will be a celebration of my legacy, again!” he added.

Chameleone added that flying in the Jamaican singer is not to pull crowds but a move aimed at sharing the same stage with someone he admired so much while starting his journey. “I admired Shabba so much, I wished I could be as big as he is. I feel like I have tried. I feel like I am as big as Shabba in my country and probably the continent. I just want him to be around and realise how big the boy who used to admire him has become.”

Chameleone Withdraws from Concert date and Lets Sheebah Have it

Earlier on this week, we reported that Chameleone and Sheebah were to face off having slated their concerts for the same date, November 30th, later on this year.

Word coming is that the champion sensational has let Sheebah have her shine, as he is letting her have the date to herself. He reportedly says that by the time he set the concert dates, he had not tested the depth of the lake with both feet. He went on to say they both Sheebah and himself are stars and Sheebah can go on to have the date to herself.

This could be as a result of Musa Kavuma, the brain behind Sheebah’s show having declined to have negotiations with Chameleone earlier on this week.

Gravity Omutujju Resurrects “who is who” beef in new song

Just when you thought the Who is Who trend was fading, Gravity Omutujju has resurrected the whole ‘beef’ thing.  For starters, when Feffe Bussi launched a scathing attack on fellow rappers, Gravity was one of the most ‘targeted’ by other rappers who ‘responded’ to the song.

Well, in Gravity’s response, he goes bare knuckles. He disses Navio, GNL, Babaluku and Rocky Giant.

The rapper refers to Navio as one ‘mummy’s boy’ whose mother (Maggie Kigozi) caters for all his needs. He generally paints Navio as one fed by the silver spoon. Gravity had no kind words for GNL as he states that the rapper fled the country due to competition. While GNL claims to be in Hollywood, Gravity poses a question, ‘How comes we never see the movies?’. In regard to Babaluku, Gravity states that the rapper has no music worth talking about. He also makes fun of Babaluku’s Bavubuka Foundation.

Was he done yet? No, he also had a word for Rocky Giant describing him as boring rapper.

In his closing remarks, he states that there is ‘no money in hardcore hiphop’. Perhaps, a befitting response for those who called him out for rapping on ragga beats!

That’s Gravity for y’all.

PHOTOS: How it went down at this Year’s Jazz Junction

This years Jazz Junction Editiion was a tribute to Hugh Masekela one of Africa’s greatest jazz artists by Isaiah Katumwa and Manu Dibango.

On an occasion that fittingly coincided with the International Jazz Day,  Isaiah Katumwa Concert served jazz lovers in Uganda a first-hand treat of Africa’s jazz royalty in the form of two internationally acclaimed guest performers; Manu Dibango and Afro-soul songstress Siphokazi, who joined our own Isaiah Katumwa for a live performance many will remember for a long time.

The concert had been themed as a tribute to the departed South African maestro Hugh Masekela, who passed on in January this year. It was therefore fitting that a living legend, Cameroonian Manu Dibango was chosen as the guest performer to headline the event.

Revellers were reminded soon enough why the concert retains the tag of one of the country’s premier jazz affairs, as host Katumwa delivered more than half a dozen of his outstanding jazz tunes that earned the genre acceptance in Uganda’s music mainstream. Katumwa`s performance sandwiched the electric vibes provided by the South African Siphokazi’s Afro-soul mixes, setting the stage for the man of the evening – Manu Dibango. He did not disappoint.

The man best known for the 1972 single “Soul Makossa”, a song which influenced several hits including Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, was quick to take charge, enrolling an awestruck audience on a musical journey with a style, grace and authority only a man with 100 albums to his name and close to 50 years of recording under his belt could.

“Makossa” means dance in Dibango’s native tongue, and he sure had revellers up on their feet as he worked his saxophone, delivering several of his other works of beauty before Katumwa joined up with the 84-year-old virtuoso to create the evening’s crowning moment of musical bliss with a joint delivery of Soul Makossa.

There was never a dull moment, and with Johnnie Walker on hand to delight the palates of those in attendance, everyone who had made it to the Victoria Hall at Serena knew their money had been well spent. It was an evening which had lived up to the promise that a lineup of three award-winning artistes provides. The jazz enthusiasts present had, indeed, been blown away.

Chameleone celebrates Birthday in Style

Singer Jose Chameleone was showered with so much love on Saturday night at Cayenne Bar and Restaurant in Bukoto at his pre-birthday party. The singer who turns 39 today was pleasantly surprised by fans as they showed him the utmost love singing along to his songs played and taking every available opportunity to get a snap with the star.
Fellow artistes Weasel, Pallaso, King Micheal, Emperor Orlando graced the event.

Sheebah and Pallaso finally end their Beef

Sometimes we cannot help but believe the theory that beef in the Music industry is only a strategy. Sheebah did a song attacking her former Team No Sleep patners Pallaso and weasel.

Rumot is now making rounds the Weasel has been in contact with Sheebah’s manager Jeff Kiiwa trying to get him to manage his music career. Now the latest we have heard is that instead of hitting back at her for the Houseboy song, Pallaso approached her for a song together and the swagg mama did not shy away from the idea.

Pallaso has a new song out called Namutima whose airplay has not been as he expected so he is hoping that having Sheebah on the remix with do some magic. The two have in the past done very well together on Go down low and Mundongo.

With Jeff Kiiwa’s blessing we can say the two are now back on talking terms.

Fille and Mc Kats Drama at Fame Lounge

The relationship between Mc Kats and singer Fille Mutoni has never been a smooth one because they are always involved in fights backstage. This happened again last Thursday at Fame Lounge where she was set to perform alongside singer Sheebah Karungi.

The two kept a noticeable distance from each other as Mc Kats kept on sending his boys to deliver messages each time he wanted to communicate something.

When it was time for Fille to perform, Mc Kats made his way to the stage, but she denied him an opportunity to wrap his hands around her booty.

Fille Music

At some point, he begged her to return to the stage to premiere her new song.

“Please do this for me.  I love this song, do it for me and not them,” he begged.

She posed for a second and then she returned on stage.  She later left the stage before the song played for 2 minutes.

Also, we are told Fille is so close to Sheebah, who has taught her the habit of getting satisfaction from fellow girls.  Sheebah and Fille spent the entire night together..
