Police in Iganga District are investigating circumstances under which a female police officer collapsed and died in a bar.
Ruth Nangobi, 58, attached to Iganga Police Station, collapsed on Tuesday evening while reportedly drinking with friends in a bar in Iganga Town.
A police officer who spoke to Daily Monitor on conditions of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to press, said her colleague collapsed as she was returning from the bar’s washrooms.

“We were boozing together before she decided to go for a short call. However, on her way back, she slid and collapsed,” said the police officer who also declined to name the bar where the incident happened.
The officer added that her colleague was first rushed to Iganga Municipal Council Health Centre III but her condition could not be managed and had to be rushed to Iganga Hospital where she died.

The Busoga East police spokesman, James Mubi, confirmed the death of the officer, saying she was a barracks guard attached to Iganga Police Station.
“At the moment I cannot tell you much about the incident but can confirm to you that she died and we are investigating,” Mr Mubi said.
By press time, the deceased’s body was lying in Iganga Hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

Afande Kirumira Charged for eating a Rolex that wasn’t his

Yes, Naguru Police tribunal charged Kirumira with abuse of office where he allegedly ate a rolex belonging to a one Joseph Bukenya. This was during his term of office at Nansana.

Well, Ugandans are very amused that eating a rolex is now criminal! Merely eating another person’s rolled eggs wrapped with chappati can be considered a crime! Surely, several criminals are on the loose for committing this offense!

Seriously you should be kidding… Then after let’s expect others charges like fitting a police uniform from the normal size. God bless Uganda”, one Facebook user commented.

“Welcome to Uganda where eating is a crime”, one Moses Kivumbi stated.

Whatever your take on this matter, Police believes he has a case to answer!

Kirumira was also charged with taking a bribe of sh210,000 which he got from Ronald Kasagga (kinene) husband to musician Doreen Mutiibwa.

If you plan on eating any Rolex from Now on, make sure it belongs to you.

Uganda police has been ranked fourthlast worldwide. We warned them, but they did not listen.

We screamed out loud but they shut their ears. Now the whole world knows. Our dirty linen has been washed in public.

A man being beaten up

The World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI) report, using a ranking by the International Police Science Association and the Institute for Economics and Peace, revealed that our Ugandan police is one of the worst in the whole of Africa, and the world.

In the report that was issued, Uganda, Kenya and Democratic republic of Congo police were ranked 124th, 125th and 126th respectively.

uniforms

The country reported with the worst is Nigeria, occupying a position of 127.

Botswana, a country that is known for its political Stability, fairness and democracy, secured a position of 47th in the whole  world, making her the country with the best police in Africa.

These rankings were done on the basis of four major points; internal security: capacity, process, legitimacy, and outcomes.

We need to borrow a leaf from our neighbours because, Rwanda, also had a high position of the 50th, in the world and 2nd in Africa.

The top most positions were dominated by mostly European country’s, and the bottom by African countries with weak democracy.

Police

The issue of Police brutality in Uganda has been a topic amongst many this year. Currently, live bullets are now being used in dispersion of crowds. Criminals claim they are thoroughly beaten up, when detained in the various prisons.

There could however be othe reasons as to why we could not make top positio. What do you think could be one of the reasons why ur Uganda Police was ranked in the bottom four?

WARNING!-Kidnappers on the loose

This is to all of us who love to walk alone, to hang out, or visit isolated places without company. The party must be stopped now, and immediately, or we need to tread more carefully especially if we are based around Entebbe road. Following the murder of 23 women in the past two months, and failure to get the people performing the evil deed, the police is on a manhunt for Kidnappers.

The police are still trying to figure out whether the murder of the 23 women near the capital center is linked to ritual sacrifices, or connected to another independent reason. Everybody is still buffled by the mystery, and at this pace, we are not so confident that it will be resolved anytime soon. Suspects have been arrested and let us pray we find the real people behind these atrocities.

The Uganda Police has already released an official statement on the matter

The police statement

Before we can recover from this loss, yet another mystery has been uncovered. There are kidnappers on the lose and we all need to be very careful.  The Uganda Media Center indicated on twitter that the police is looking for two men in a numberless and tinted glass Ipsum, who they believe to be kidnappers.

Please dear public, let us be careful, and protect the people we love. Pass this message till every national gets it.
