Why Tanzania Banned 13 “dirty songs” Including 2 Diamond Platinumz Music

They say that there is something special about Zari Hassan. She brings success, and when you leave her, you are laying grounds for your downfall. Diamond and Zari broke up this month after his infidelity. Could this be a sign? Tanzania has banned 13 local “dirty songs” from airing on Radio, TV, playing in public places. Two  songs of Diamond Platinumz are prohibited. These include “Waka”, where he featured International Artist, Rick Ross, and popular hit, “Hallellujah.”

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) received a list of the songs from the National Arts Council of Tanzania (Basata). The music that appeared on this list, pushed for a decision to ban them, due to their immorality. The songs are against the country’s norms and values. These songs contain lyrics that “violate ethics of regulations of broadcasting services (Content) 2005”

According to the president, this music should not be heard on any media station or public hangouts.

Magufuli, the current president of Tanzania, became famous because of his policies, and strict views. He viewed school pregnancy as immoral behavior. Let us hope this decision to ban obscene music, will reduce immorality in the country.
