10 Things You Will Relate To If You Went To A Kenyan Boarding school

If you went to a Kenyan boarding school especially the public ones,I am sure you can relate to some of these:

 1. You ate EVERYTHING.I once went to a school where people licked ENO, ate salt and even licked toothpaste out of hunger. And in high school people actually ATE the mangoes preserved for the dichotomous key.

2. You got sick on visiting day due to all the pigging out. The week after visiting day was characterized by awful smells emitted from belching.

 

3. The canteen was a war-zone where people scramble savagely to get to the front.Kind of like the picture below:

 

4. You owned one of the ‘Miss’ Products or ‘Queen Elizabeth’ products

 

5. You locked your water with a padlock under your bed to prevent people from stealing

 

 6. This was your boarding school starter pack

7. The smell of ‘kerol’ on your sweater. I don’t know if it’s the right spelling but I guess you can all remember the horrible smell that stuck on your sweater whenever you went to the loo.

8. The special diet people-People kept a close relationship with those folks to avoid eating Githeri.

9. The teachers were very creative with their punishments.
