Alfred Mutua Unveils Africa’s Only Open-Field Amphitheatre in Machakos (PHOTOS)

Just a week after showing you the progress of Machawood, Masaku is back in the limelight for all the right reasons. Last Friday, Machakos County Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua unveiled one-of-a-kind amphitheaters in Africa in the county. Found in Machakos People’s Park, the 5000-seater amphitheater is Africa’s only field amphitheater.

The Park will be officially open to the public on Valentine’s weekend, from Friday February 14^th, for a three (3) day entertainment extravaganza. Saturday, 15th and Sunday 16th will be family days and we welcome all to come and visit the park and enjoy free entertainment from great musicians and comedians.

“We have chosen to open the Park over the Valentine’s weekend because we want to uphold Machakos as the city and county of friendship, harmony and yes, LOVE,” said Dr. Mutua at the launch.
