The #bringcarolhome is currently trending on twitter and it has brought with it a wave of sadness among Kenyans; it surrounds the story of one Carol Kambua, who was stuck in India for a whole year due to a pending medical bill amounting to around 3 million.
The lass was suffering from Lupus and thus went to India to seek medical treatment. It was there that the bill being too much and the hospital had no other choice but hold her hostage until it was cleared.
Her and her family got creative so they started the #bringcarolhome which was an initiative to raise the much needed funds. She was leading from the front as you can clearly see:
Kenyans really got into the groove and raised the funds and now the only thing remaining was for Carol to come home; this was on Tuesday, 18th January.
This unfortunately was never meant to be as Carol passed on the very same day due to unexpected complications much to the melancholy of Kenyans.
