CABU GAH DIARIES: If I was Vera Sidika I would BLEACH My skin too! And change My nose…And Fix My Eyes…Heck,Even My Neck too!

If I was Vera Sidika,I would DO EXACTLY what she did! I Don’t Blame Her.

Screw what You heard, I have been on record before castigating Queen Vera for bring what I thought was a Bad Influence to Young Women. Her lifestyle nauseated Me. Her constant aversive behavior irked Me….And,as a role model,I figured she should know better.

I spent a considerable amount of time lambasting her,excoriating her lifestyle and what I thought was her contribution to the demoralization of society. The Kenyan Society.

But the more I wrote,the more Vera cared less. The more I attacked her, the more she became emboldened. She made it 100% clear that she was NO ONE’S ROLE MODEL.

Time and again,she publicly announced that she wasn’t anyone’s MOTHER or Guardian. She extolled us to quit finding inspiration in her. Or direction. She made it crystal clear that she was NEVER meant to be a Role Model. And Society should quit looking up to her.

Bold words from a Bold Woman.

At that particular point,I quit bothering. And I started taking her as she was; A carefree,insouciant free soul. With NO fear of either mortal or,seemingly,of God.

A woman in control of her controvertible life. A woman in charge of her destiny. A woman with NO apologies and NO explanations.

But let us look at her BLEACHING fiasco,for instance.

Why did Vera Sidika bleach?? Well,Why do women use make-up?? Why do Men go to the gym?? Why do women add fake eye-lashes to their eyes?? Why do women use nail-polish?? Why do women wear push-up bras??

Well,they do it to ENHANCE their beauty. And to look a little more beautiful than they already are.

Women,let’s face it,are mostly an image-oriented lot. Women can be superficial. Very superficial.

All a Woman wants by the time she leaves the house is to LOOK GOOD. To stand out from the crowd of other Beautiful women. And to be ahead of the pack.

Women are in a constant race to be noticed…To be picked out from a congregation and to stand out.

Regular women spend hours in the salon yearning for that head-turning hairstyle. Others line up at Umoja and Kariobangi Markets to have their nails painted,their feet scrubbed and their hands manicured.

Women will spend 80% of their weekend in a Beauty Parlour….struggling to look like Beyonce. Look like Rihanna. Look like Omotola.

To Women,even the MOST learned or enlightenment,its ALL ABOUT the Beauty. Ask Martha Karua…One of Kenya’s MOST intelligent Women who would never leave the house without a proper red-polish manicure anyday.

This World is a cruel Place. A place where Men can walk around in a torn Airtel T-shirt and old sandals….But the Wife must step out looking like heaven.

Women HATE each other. Deeply and passionately. They are Always in a deep competition to outdo each other,outsmart each other and outlook each other.

Over 50% of a Woman’s salary is spent on bags and salon trips and jewelry and make-up and beauty paraphernalia.

To Women,LOOKING AWESOME is All that matters.

And it doesn’t matter which type of Woman we are talking about here. ALL WOMEN are in a constant race to look attractive and likeable and beautiful.

Urban women…Village Women…Local women…Foreign Women…Old Women…Young Women…Rich Women….Poor Women.

They are ALL THE SAME; Its all about Beauty to them. Nothing else.

From the traditional Women of Samburu and Ndebele and Thailand who use neck rings to elongate their necks to the ancient women of Japan who used Nightingale’s feaces to make their skin look lighter… Women have always been in a constant struggle for Beauty. Since Creation.

And so,I am NOT surprised that Vera Sidika went a step further in her quest for beauty. I am NOT.

Why is it wrong for Vera to bleach her skin and Yet it is right for other Women to use fake nails??

Why is it wrong for Vera to bleach her skin and Yet it is right for other women to use fake eye-lashes??

Why is it wrong for Vera to bleach her skin and Yet it is right for other women to use heels to enhance their height??

Why is it wrong for Vera to bleach and yet it is right for other women to use push-up bras to enhance their boobs appearance and create a much visible cleavage??

TRUTH IS; 70% of a Modern Woman’s Body is FAKE.

Every woman has attempted to alter her look in one way or another. Every woman alive has added foreign objects on her body to either look taller,lighter,more attractive et cetera et cetera.

Do YOU know why Vera bleached?? Well,Because she could afford it!!! That’s why!!!

And for a woman in the industry that Vera is in,YOU MUST LOOK GLAMOROUS. At all times.

To survive as a Socialite,Your physical looks must be 101% perfect!

Look at Kim Kardashian. Look at Olivia Palermo. Look at Tinsley Mortimer. Look at Mercedes Morr. Look at Kenya Moore. Look at Porsha Williams.

These are Western Socialites who have MASTERED the art of the game. Their Bodies, Hair,Eyes, Skin,Legs,Nails,Smile,Shape,Booty,Dress Code and Bust is in PERFECT shape.

To be a Socialite it takes 90% Looks and 10% Brains. Its a fickle industry. A superficial industry.

Vera has to SURVIVE. And make a living. And that CANNOT happen if her face and body and skin and booty and bust is NOT 99.9% perfect!!

And that’s why she bleached. And that’s why she had a boob job. And that’s why she wears the hair she does. And that’s why she wears the shoes she does. And that’s why she wears the make-up she does.

The Result?? She is Kenya’s NUMBER ONE Female Entertainer.

And she is among the TOP TEN Africa’s TOP Video Vixens according to Channel O.

You DON’T get there by being regular. You don’t achieve that by looking like everybody else. You don’t earn that slot by bring invisible. You don’t get that top-rated by being an average woman.

No.

To BE THE BEST in a Beauty-Oriented Industry….YOU have to go,Not one step….Or two steps…But ten steps further. Even if it means BLEACHING that skin. Changing Your nose. Fixing Your hips Or chiseling Your neck.

A Woman’s gotta do what a Woman’s gotta do.

If I was Vera,and I wanted to be the BEST,I wouldn’t just BLEACH,Heck,I would change MY whole head!!

I would fix my nose,fix my eyes,fix the shape of my mouth,fix my forehead,fix my toes….Fix Fix Fix.

As a Woman,I would know that I am in a constant battle with other women on who looks the Best,Who dresses the Best or Who smells the Best.

And to earn that top slot,there is NOTHING I wouldn’t do. Nothing!

Vera is only doing what every either woman has done before…Only that she went a step further.

And there is NOTHING wrong with going a step further! Nothing!
