Fists Tightly Folded As War Looms Between DJs And Singers… But The Reason Behind This Will Leave You Shaking
Going by the latest developments, DJs and singers are definitely squaring up against each other and it is only a matter of time before we see blows being exchanged and probably blood being shed.
It has never happened before and perhaps this is why it is the strangest thing I have ever heard or come by as far music in Kenya is concerned.
That singers are demanding a pay from DJs before they play any of their songs not only beats logic but also leaves so much room for a lot of questioning.
And this is the bone of contention here. There is this issue that has risen lately where cold blood is quickly developing between singers and DJs over music. The former feel that the latter are benefiting immensely from their work yet they contribute nothing to helping them come up with it.
Look, this is what I call nonsense. That a section of singers wants DJs to obtain licenses to play their music is utter crap.
And it is here that I concur with DJ Crème de la Crème who has termed comments made by some singer on a local paper bullshit!
According to the singer, DJs entirely rely on singers for a living and so they should just pay for every song they play or mix. Oh boy, where do I hide my face.
