From Rags To Riches, The Transformation Of Octopizzo

Life in Kebera is no walk in the park. Kibera, the biggest slum in Eastern Africa is a rough area. And it is also a rich vein of talent having given Kenya some of it’s most talented artists and musicians. That said, Octopizzo grew up. That was his stomping ground for most of his life and probably would have been where you would find him today were it not for his mastery of lyrics.

And wordplay. And he too is all too familiar with this fact. He took to social media to celebrate just how far his talents have brought him:

Hunger of choice is a painful luxury; hunger of necessity is terrifying torture,Paris is the only city in the world where starving to death is still considered an art,But in Kibera Njaa inafanya unakaa Mzee kuliko miaka zako Mtuangu, this is me in 2001(njaa) & 2014 respectively
1 billion people in the world are chronically hungry. 1 billion people are overweight.
Today Thursday buy somebody food plizz,I’ll be in Kibera at 1pm the BASE Restaurant doing the same,Buy Food, and make a kid or a person Smile.
