It’s no doubt that he’s the most listened to radio host as far as morning radio is concerned. Controversy seems to be central in his career as much as it is in his private life. He’s also among the top wealthiest young people in Kenya. He’s Maina Kageni.

I recently had the rare chance of interviewing where I sought to find out more about the hullabaloo surrounding his sexuality among other things that makes him what he is. Here’s an excerpt of that interview;

Is there any one time that you have received a very controversial topic that you felt you can’t let it go on air?

Very many times… some can literally tear our social fabric… can you imagine learning that your much older brother is also your father? How do I air that?

One thing is true about you; either people love or hate you extremely, there’s no in-between. How do you deal with haters?

I let them be… opinions are like ass holes… everyone has one!!!!

How do you deal with female fans? It’s public knowledge that you get numerous sex offers and even marriage proposal.

I appreciate their love for me but I keep a respectable distance….

What do you think about Mwalimu King’ang’i?

Very creative and a great guy with a generous, giving heart who never feels threatened by new talent… he actually takes them under his wing and nurtures them….

Why are people hung up on this after all these years?

Why do you defend women rigorously and selflessly (to the point of earning the title, “Women Rep.”) yet there’s no woman in your life apart from your mum? 

Women are the pillars of any society…You don’t go bashing the walls that support your house, do you?
