Gospel Music under Siege: This song “Mung’u nipe Nyonyo” likely to cause major uproar. Makes Tiga Wana look like a total joke!

It’s barely been a month since the popular hit single Tiga Wana by Willy Paul and Size 8 hit the airwaves much to the disappointment of many. Many termed it as an uncouth, ungodly and totally satanic and no attempts by the duo to explain the song bore any fruits.

Actually they even attempted some radio interviews and most of them turned to be a total mess. Much questioning at Radio Maisha even led to Willy Paul walking out on an interview when he was pushed to the wall to explain whether whatever he was doing was Godly in any way.

Size 8’s husband, DJ MO also attempted to salvage the two but nothing; Kenyans were hearing none of it. What came out clear however was that majority of Kenyans felt there was a disconnect between God and the artists who are allegedly propelling his message. The narrative being advanced is that theirs is not a matter of preaching the gospel but creating controversy, going commercial and cashing in on the whole hullabaloo.

The fire has since died off but it seems it started about a year ago; just that majority of us didn’t get the memo. It was started off by one SBJ who out of the blues decided to drop a song and in the midst of it all called it Nyonyo (female breasts in Kikuyu).

Yes, the song is apparently about how God should keep giving him Nyonyo as he’s appreciative as opposed to other people who receive it and either discard it or give priority to other things; I assume actual female breasts.
