He is said to have been one of history’s greatest mass murderers due to his despicable reign of terror in Congo that included forceful amputation, torture, arson, rape and the massacre of an estimated 10 million Africans.

His name was King Leopold II of Belgium a.k.a the Butcher of Congo. Using the money he got from the enslavement of Africans, he managed to build himself a huge Villa in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat located in the south of France.

According to the Daily Mail, the current owner, Suzanne Marnier-Lapostolle of Luxury liquor brand ‘Grand Marnier’ is now selling the house for about €1billion.

Built in 1830, the Villa boasts of 10 bedrooms, an Olympic sized swimming pool, 35 acres of botanical gardens, a winter garden a chapel and stables.
