IMAX: Where Superior Sound Meets Great Images

The IMAX film format has raised the bar for theatrical entertainment display by improving the filmgoing experience.

Derived from Image Maximum, the cinema projection standard records and displays images at a superior resolution, which to the normal audience translates to the facilitation of larger images without loss of quality.

It is widely believed that IMAX is a new technology but it has been in the making for 80 years. The first IMAX film, though, is Tiger Child which was released in 1970. It has since been used for specialty programs, specifically scientific presentations and documentaries.

The IMAX digital format can be re-mastered into image and sound quality of an IMAX 3-D Experience. The crystal-clear images and IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

And there is no better film to experience sound and image optimization than Metallica Through the Never, which premiers this Friday, October 4th at the IMAX XX Century on Mama Ngina Street. Check out the trailer below.
