“Joho is bringing American Celebrities to Mombasa at the expense of the County”, Awiti claims

Nyali Member of Parliament, Hezron Awiti has accused the Mombasa County of misusing tax payer’s money.
Awiti who is one of Hassan Joho harshest critic has claimed the county has been spending money on unnecessary things such as the Mombasa Rocks Concert which was held at Nyali Golf club.
Awiti said, as quoted by The Star.
Joho is rumored to have been responsible in bringing top US singer Chris Brown and Nigeria’s Wizkid to Kenya last month.
During the thrilling and most memorable concert yet of 2016, Joho took to the stage and promised the county will see more A-list artists in the new future.
 
The vocal MP also took a hit at the county government for paying ghost workers as well as spending huge amounts of money on travelling.
Nyali MP said.
According to an Annual Implementation Report, released last week by the Controller of Budget, Mombasa county was spot on spot for huge wage bill.
Mombasa County spent almost Sh4 billion on salaries alone for the financial year 2015/2016.
However, Joho has dismissed the claims that the county government sponsored the Chris Brown event, the rumours have however refused to go away.

Awiti was Speaking on Monday when he met leaders from various communities residing in Mombasa, in preparations of the 2017 elections, Awiti has declared he wants to unseat Joho as Mombasa governor.
